Position: Development and industrialization engineer for a 2-wheel e-scooter

Division/Department: Volkswagen China Passenger Cars Brand

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

？ Technical responsibility of complex, cross-functional projects with high importance for Volkswagen’s strategy of micro-mobility. Development and implementation of relevant project parameters and technical contents incl. production supervision. Tracking, development and conduct of project contents, concepts, processes, structure and timing for the project of Volkswagen Streetmate, a 2-wheel e-scooter. Key role in implementation of technical content according to Volkswagen’s quality standards with local suppliers.

o Technical key player in local project team and conduct of development and project plans

o Responsible for achievement of project objectives in collaboration with partner’s and Volkswagen’s project team in China and Germany

o Coordination of parties/ project members involved, incl. VW internal and external partners

o Solving of technical and organizational problems and conflicts of interests with external and internal partners

o Ensuring project key milestones and deliverables

Your Responsibilities:

？ Management and development of technical project contents in terms of function, vehicle integration, manufacturability and quality.  Initiation and implementation incl. integration and tracking of possible new process partners in local industry and suppliers, e.g.:

o Management of local project teams and development of project content according to project objectives defined

o Management of project content. Implementation and achievement of project objectives (function, durability, manufacturing process, quality)

o Documentation of project and manufacturing processes and degrees of function and process fulfilment

？ Technical key player in local project team and conduct of development and project plans

？ Ensuring compliance with segment specific quality standards, which is adapted to VW

？ Ensuring communication and working process between VW AG Germany, VW China, external engineering service providers and the local Chinese partners, e.g.:

o Coordination of parties / project members involved, incl. VW internal and external partners

o Ensuring data exchange between involved parties within the project (CAD, KVS, etc.)

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

？ Experience regarding engineering and quality assurance in motorcycle/ scooter/ e-bike/ e-scooter related companies

？ Deep knowledge about product (motorcycle/ scooter/ e-bike/ e-scooter), technique and product development process

？ Knowledge about manufacturing processes (assembly, aluminum casting, forging, plastics die casting, assembly of electronic components)

？ Knowledge in Quality Management; Supplier surveillance and industrial consultancy

？ Knowledge regarding project planning and experience of project implementation and tracking

？ Experience in multinational companies preferred

？ University degree in a relevant field required
