Gore Shenzhen Venting team within the Performance Solution Division of W.L. Gore & Associates is looking for an energetic, flexible, organized and high performing experienced Process Engineer to provide product and manufacturing support for one of our fastest growing businesses. This associate must be able to multi-task and prioritize their activities within a rapid paced environment, have meticulous work practices and be team oriented.

In this commitment you will:

• Partner with global & cross-functional teams to prioritize customer needs, support rapid sample requests, and quickly develop new products and capabilities
• Provide process engineering support along the entire supply chain to address product quality concerns

Main responsibilities include:

• Partner with business team and contract manufacturers to develop and validate new material, products, and processes for new applications, including the establishment of statistically-based sampling plans to meet our high volume product claims
• Drive the continuous advancement of manufacturing capabilities (internal to Gore and at Contract Manufacturers) to meet the ever-changing needs of our business
• Provide guidance to the business on our manufacturing capabilities to ensure we can deliver on our commitments to our customers
• Collaborate with the business to translate customer requirements into meaningful specifications with defined test methods
• Identify and lead efforts to streamline our processes to reduce commercialization and manufacturing lead times
• Provide daily process support for the manufacturing of existing products through regular interaction with the production floor (include contract manufacturers) and deep knowledge of the production equipment
• Drive root cause resolution of equipment and product quality upsets
• Work with design engineers to develop, install, and validate new equipment
• Communicate technical progress and results with global and cross-functional teams
• Configure new raw materials and finished parts in our ERP and quality systems
• Train and coach other technical and manufacturing associates
• Document your work with reports, tech notebooks, and quality system entries

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering (Polymer, Chemical, Electronic, Mechanical, Material, Acoustic, etc) with a minimum of 5 years process engineering experience on mass production

• Logical thinking, sound knowledge of engineering principles and demonstrated ability to apply them to troubleshoot equipment, processes, materials and quality issues

• Demonstrated ability to:

- Network/interact and contribute effectively in cross-functional teams

- Prioritize and lead projects to completion

- Work hands-on with manufacturing and lab equipment

• Solid experience in the areas of:

- Die cutting technology, including die tools design and new die cutting process development

- Performing commercialization and/or validation activities

- Optimizing and troubleshooting web handling processes

- Applying statistical tools such as SPC and designed experiments in manufacturing

• Evidence of a continuous improvement mindset for optimizing testing/production processes

• Excellent communication skills and technical writing skills, including in English

• Willingness to travel frequently to support contract manufacturing onsite within China
• Flexibility to support off shift production and global teammates/customers in different time zones as necessary

• Hands on skill on AutoCAD and/or Solidworks.

  The following skills would be an advantage:

• Experience in smart phone related components development & manufacturing

• Experience in pressure sensitive adhesive

• Applying Lean Concepts/ Operational Excellence tools
