Job summary

The Lead Javascript Web Development Engineer candidate will join a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary engineering team, supporting the design of new products as the company continues to grow. The applicant should be incredibly talented, pragmatic and a natural problem solver that learns highly technical knowledge at lightning pace – we are on the cutting edge of product design and this is an extremely important skill. They are a coding wizard and can work seamlessly with hardware engineers, software developers and designers to turn ideas into reality - nothing should sound impossible to you. The position requires a certain amount of creativity and an ability to think outside the box when design, cost and engineering conflicts inevitably occur.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in device-agnostic platform architecture design

• Design front-end and back-end software modules

• Optimise system for stability, scalability and performance

• Develop China web system

Skills:

• College degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related majors

• English speaking and writing fluency

• Proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js

• Familiar with ES5 and above

• HTML/CSS/XML/JSON proficiency

• Proficient in the user of React, JQuery, Socket.IO and other JS libraries

• Understanding of Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and Service Workers

• Familiar with WebKit, Blink etc

• Experience building with Microservices architecture

• Proficient with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

• Use of agile development methodology

• Understanding of Google Cloud and/or Amazon Web Services

• Experience in design and development of Web application architecture that scales

• Familiar with linux system/commands and Shell language

• Familiar with asynchronous programming (Promise objects)

• Understand HTTP server such as Nginx and Apache

• Prefer experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Continuous Integration, automated deployment and testing etc

• Team leader experience preferred

• An interest in maker technology
