As a result of our global expansion, we're looking for a Carrier Operations Manager for Flexport Shenzhen that will be a part of Flexport Pricing and Procurement Team / Ocean Freight Service Organization. The Carrier Operations Manager will join our growing Shenzhen Team to lead a team of Carrier Operations Associates to deliver sea freight booking services and local logistics services to clients and their suppliers. What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage a team of carrier operations associates to deliver ocean freight booking, documentation and local logistics services to our client’s suppliers and Flexport client teams (squads).
- Lead the end to end local shipment process including carrier booking, shipping documentation, shipper, trucker, customs coordination.
- Inform the ongoing development of our proprietary software to revolutionize the ocean freight booking and cargo movement process for shippers in South China.
- Manage exceptions and deliver insights to improve the forecasting and allocation management process;
- Establish strong working relationships with internal team members including Client facing squads, allocation manager, trade managers and Flexport Asia leadership.
- Continuously identify and execute on process and software improvements to drive stakeholder (carrier & squad) satisfaction;
- Ensure compliance with appropriate governmental regulations and company policies
 
What you’ll need:
- 5 years of prior experience at a top freight forwarder or carrier ideally with customer service or booking/documentation operations experience or 5 years of experience in management consulting or supply chain consulting
- A BA/BS Degree or equivalent
- Strategic vision for process innovation and ground floor execution;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
- An obsession with stakeholder happiness. You succeed when they succeed;
- Strong command of English and Mandarin;
