JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Full product line ownership for the assigned segment/customers:
o Create and execute strategic marketing plan to drive sales and profit growth
o Measure product quality and drive continuous improvement
o Executing product life cycle initiatives for the segment
o Maintain segment/customer portfolio roadmap
o Define user/buyer personas for products - be the expert in their area
o Write product requirements and use scenarios
o Manage pricing and profitability
* Discover and validate market problems (both existing and future customers)
* Seek new opportunities by leveraging the company’s distinctive competence
* Conduct win/loss analysis
* Provide oversight of strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of all products in the segment
* Position the product for key customers and all buyer types
* Document the typical buying process
* Collaborate marketing communications to create and execute marketing mix, materials, new product launch, and go-to-market plans
* Collaborate with platform marketing, sales and engineering on segment strategy to help plan and drive continuous growth
* Provide technical assistance, training and leadership for sales, customer service, and our customers as a subject matter expert for all platform products
* Understand the unique needs of the customer segment
o Conduct technology assessment
o Analyze the competitive landscape
o Monitor and incorporate industry innovations
Position Requirements:
* BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering; MBA a plus
* Demonstrated marketing competency
* Proven technical aptitude
* Entrepreneurial drive to take ownership of our marketing/product strategy and execution to achieve our growth goals
* Strong leadership skills - must be able to work across departments and regions, including internationally
* 3-5 years previous product management/product marketing experience
* A strong business sense – person needs the ability to create segment marketing/product strategy from market analysis
* A strong customer orientation with a “how can I help” approach
* Must be a team player with the ability to work across multiple disciplines and geographies
* Strong project management skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Travel will be required – 20%
* Ability to create and edit PowerPoint presentations required
* Must have above average Excel and numerical analysis skills
