General Position Summary:
The Senior Mechanical engineer is responsible and accountable for all mechanical and electro-mechanical development activities in the Loud Shenzhen office. The Senior ME is responsible for product development, design verification and DFM for ODM and OEM products, partnering with product management and project management to ensure success of all assigned product development programs.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
? Lead product development and verification, from initial project approval through 3 months of mass production.
? Ensure product meets customer and internal requirements, specifications and cost targets.
? Partner with Industrial Design Group and acoustic team to initiate the mechanical design in terms of cosmetic solution, mechanical components, materials and finishes.
? Knowledge of material and design guidelines for plastic, metal and die cast parts, knowledge on molding structure/fabrication and, injection process/defects analysis is plus.;
? The ability to analyze and design mechanical assemblies and their subcomponents with consideration for manufacturability, efficiency and quality.
? Create tolerance stack- up analysis on complete mechanical designs.
? Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to determine thermal heat dissipation ability of mechanical designs.
? Demonstrated experience with generating program specific mechanical specification and control documents; Experience with configuration management. and document management, and product lifecycle management tools.
? 3D design for tooling experience, Pro/E is preferred.;
? Be familiar with SPC, GD&T, metal stampings, plastic parts, die design, molding design, molding flow analysis, CAD Software
? Capable of performing tolerance analysis and DFMEA,
? Manage product timelines to meet overall project goals.
? Experience generating technical documentation for engineering and manufacturing.;
? Audio product design experience is a plus.;


Secondary Functions:
? Knowledge of configuration management tools, bill-s of- materials and engineering change orders.
? Provide technical support and schedule estimates to Program Managers and Project Managers.
? Perform other related duties as assigned.



Job Scope:
Works for NPD manager. The senior ME is able to take ownership of complex design tasks, break the overall task into individual design tasks and work with assigned engineers to complete the design process.
Follows all applicable procedures.

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Interpersonal Contacts:
This position primarily interacts with other engineering and test team members, product managers and operations team staff, outside vendors and contract manufacturers.

Specific Job Skills:
? Requires Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
? 10+ years of ME design experience, preferably in the audio industry.
? Ability to work in fast paced development environment coordinating with hardware, software, acoustic, and industrial design.
? Ability to design plastic, wood, and metal tooled components from specifications.
? Ability to complete independent tasks as part of a larger set of team deliverables.
? Good analytical skills for problem solving are required for this position.
? Solid analytical and problem solving skills
? Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.
? Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, verbally and in writing.
? Effective interpersonal & problem solving skills.
? Ability to work with an international design team and communicate in English.

Education and/or Experience:
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Range: 10+ years’ experience as a design engineer.
