Position Summary

The Internal Control Manager will work closely with the APR Controllers, SOX Controller and Internal Audit team to ensure that the company has a robust system of internal controls that consistently report complete and accurate financial information. The role will also be a partner for any projects which involve business process change, supporting the business to implement a sound financial statement control environment and in addition, identify issues and work with the team towards a timely resolution, root cause and putting remediation in place.

• As regional internal control expert to provide advise & training in the areas of Segregation of Duties (SOD), Sarbanes-Oxley, corporate control standard & policies to relevant employees and departments;
• Participate in the upfront design of new business process relating to new business and operation models, and ensure appropriate controls are built in;
• Conduct ad-hoc process compliance review in business units, identify risks and improvement opportunities, recommend corrective action plans and drive for remediation;
• Independently maintain existing regional policies and procedures, document regional compliance disciplines in accordance with relevant corporate standards and policies, and drive the execution of these disciplines;
• Co-ordinate regional reporting, includes management representation letter, watch list, restructuring, quarterly monitoring, T&E reporting, functional currency assessment, Insurance, etc.
• As Global Sox Project Manager (focus APR), who lead regional SOX initiatives to review key business processes, maintain process documentation, drive for simplification and standardization, organize annual certification, etc.
• Liaise with audit, security and other corporate functional departments on behalf of the APR region;
• Work closely with China Controller and act as back when required.
• Other projects assigned by the APR Controller on as needed basis.

Required Knowledge/Skills & Experience

Minimum of 6 years of work experience in Public Accounting and/or Corporate Audit department of MNC preferred. Strong technical knowledge in Internal Control and SOX. Professional qualification such as CIA, CISA, ACCA, CGA, CPA, CA is desired.

·Independent – able to work independently as manager will be not be based in the country.

·Developing Relationships – invests time effectively in building strong relationships with colleagues from businesses and external/other internal stakeholders.

·Communication – strong oral, written, and formal English presentation skills including ability to communicate complex ideas. Creative, flexible and able to think “outside of the box”.

·Problem solving and analytical skills – A creative problem solver, combining good technical knowledge with good balance and judgment relating to accounting, financial and commercial issues.

·Team Work –Able to work with outsourced and/or cross-functional teams to ensure work is done timely and provide the relevant information. Very important as significant part of the work is outsourced to third parties
