Title: Sourcing Buyer
Department: Procurement
Reports To: Sourcing Manager
Location: Shenzhen, China
Position Summary
Support/Handle new projects from infancy through to mass production. Sourcing new suppliers/products as per customer’s requirements. Benchmark current suppliers and products and offer alternative sources/products. Study new technologies, present to customers and ensure we are ahead of our competitors.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manages various sourcing projects. Consumable electronics would be first priority.
- Works with team members on conducting general market research in various categories as well as research into potential suppliers, product specifications and resources.
- Conducts supplier analysis, evaluates potential suppliers, and manages the overall supplier qualification process, develops and create sourcing plans, requests for proposal, and other sourcing documents, evaluates and recommends purchasing and sourcing decision to management.
- Manages the sampling and product approval process for the project.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Manages new product launching, consulting and the product approval processes. Negotiate agreements and agreement related duties.
- Reports to China Management.
- Manage supplier panel and supplier monthly, annual performance.
- Manage the customer relationship, propose innovate products to boost business.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of the consumer electronics field and potential supply base for these commodities
- In dept knowledge of modern technologies and desire to follow the changes in technology
- Understanding of certification and licensing requirements for different regions
- Knowledge in other commodities such as print and packing, textiles
- Be capable of operating & co-ordinating activity within a multi-cultural environment and be capable of influencing those within that environment.
- Capable of responding to multiple challenges in a positive and energetic fashion.
- Capable of pulling information from a variety of sources both internal & external to our Client and be able to process & analyse this information & data.
- Excellent product knowledge to be able to liaise effectively with the customer & offer alternatives to find an optimal solution for the customers’ product requirements.
Education & Experience:
- Working knowledge of MRP, SAP and MS office.
- Record in participating cross functional project teams.
- Consumable electronics of key business processes, related products and fulfillment methodologies.
- Fluent Mandarin & English
- More than 5 years sourcing buyer experience. Electronics priority.
