Summary of Position
This position is critical in coordinating the following two supply chain activities for product categories as assigned by direct manager:
1. Burton Trim supply chain starting from the release of the trim forecast to the suppliers all the way through to delivery of trims to the finished good factories. Activities include solving any delivery, quality or quantity related issues that may occur during finished goods production.
2. Burton supply chain starting from monitoring finished goods purchase order placement all the way through to delivery to the Distribution Centers.
This position will partner with Trims suppliers, finished goods vendors, and Materials & Product development teams in the US and Asia to monitor all orders and other supply chain movements.
This position will be monitoring trim supply chain activities, from releasing the forecast, to tracking production and ensuring on time delivery by timely resolving any problems that may occur.
This position will need to understand the entire finished goods production process and weekly status WIP reporting, and will work with supply chain team on action plans with the goal to absorb potential delays and ensure on time delivery.
This position will be timely reviewing and approving the barcode & packaging trims to ensure they match Burton standards.
This position will also ensure that SAP is updated regularly to accurately reflect the activities in the supply chain and will work with US Supply planning team to maintain and close out PO’s during the entire season.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
- Collaborate with US trim development team to support timely trim forecasts and order placements to finished good vendors.
- Timely track the trims production report and cross check with the normal trim leadtime and delivery quoted by vendors and ensure Burton/supplier/vendors are aligned with the same plan.
- When trim delays, quality issues, shortages, or late development changes happen, coordinate with suppliers, vendors and Burton US development team to re-adjust finish goods production & assure on time delivery.
- Communicate and track trim MOQ surcharges and leftover liabilities among supply chain team members
- Monitor on-time ex-factory of product via Work in Process reports, logistics tracking tools, and proactive communication with the vendors via phone and email.
- Track style finalization progress to verify that all products are ready to buy at time of PO placement. This will require collaboration with Burton’s development teams in the US and Asia.
- Maintain vendor performance measurement system in key operational areas
- Maintain accurate ex-factory and delivery dates in SAP; collaborate with the global supply planning and regional logistics departments in discussions on airfreight when needed.
- Facilitate communication between the vendors and our third party partners including GT Nexus, Kuehne and Nagel, Expeditors, and the ADC (DHL).
- Provide guidance to vendors in terms Burton Vendor guide content as it relates to shipping, labeling, PO terms and conditions, payment, Social and Chemical compliance, etc.
- Provide a weekly report to the respective Product category summarizing the current state of the Supply chain during production times.
- Advise manger on supplier performance against contractual obligations and vendor guide compliance. Liaise with suppliers and Burton internal customers to resolve supplier performance issues
Requirement:
- At least 2-3 years of relevant factory or textile merchandising experience, working experience on garment fabric and accessories is preferable.
- A college graduated or equivalent, major in textile with college degree background is preferable.
- Previous working in garment factory environment and knowledge of woven and knit fabric is a must
- Good commence of written and spoke English, Chinese and Mandarin ,Cantonese is helpful
- Good computer knowledge & MS Office (Word, Excel…etc.)
- Good analytical and interpersonal skills, team work spirit.
- Can work under pressure and good time management ability.
- Some overnight travel requires
