Requirements:

1. Ph.D. in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineer, or Master of Science in Chemistry with comparable professional experience in chemistry
2. Profound knowledge in preparative organic and analytical chemistry
3. Good knowledge in chemical synthesis, manufacturing technologies, and application technologies
4. Good knowledge of English language
5. Ability to lead a team of at least two employees of technical, mainly chemistry background
6. Consciousness for safety-, quality- and cost-matters
7. Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office Package

Job Tasks:

1. Create concepts and laboratory procedures; assist scientifically and administrative wise the technologist in executing the allocated laboratory work including training of new technologists staff
2. Ensure state-of-the-art monitoring of chemical reactions and characterization of starting materials/intermediates/products by proper analytical methods such as HPLC; develop or optimize tailor-made analytical methods if necessary
3. Ensure safety standards in the laboratory/area of responsibility in line with the DyStar code of conduct and local acts
4. Ensure proper documentation of all R&D laboratory work in respective documentation systems (e.g. databases)
5. Develop laboratory procedures for the pilot-plant manufacturing and provide technical support in the pilot plant scale-up and production of new products
6. Screen/monitor the scientific literature & patents for state-of-the-art scientific developments in preparative and analytical chemistry
7. Monitor the launch of new products and patent applications by our competitors; identify the structures and the key elements of the above
8. Draft patent applications and technical support for our corporate patent attorneys in defending the company patents in patent examinations and legal proceedings
9. Prepare representative samples for product registration according to legal requirements (chemical law)and coloristic reports
