ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyze sourcing project/original samples to get overall info. before sourcing. Check sourcing database to see if there are any potential vendor who meet requirements.
2. Source via internet, global vendor list, US customs data etc., to find out suitable factories by evaluating their overall data.
3. Check suppliers audit status, work with audit team and evaluate if vendors meet main customers vendor qualification requirements. Arrange desk audit and on site audit accordingly.
4. Follow up and complete sourcing projects on new vendor evaluation and development, price negotiation, sampling to move forward within time line .
5. Communicate with internal departments (marketing, Audit, QA,QC) to ensure products meet market and customer’s requirements.
6. Visit factory on site to know first hand info. about the vendor’s production, facility. Communicate with vendors in person to enable better mutual understanding.
7. Ensure vendors can meet our requirements on cost, quality, capacity and payment terms before new vendor setting up.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education: College or University degree
B. Preferred Major: International business/trade
C. Experience: 5-8 years working experience in sourcing /international trading/buying office.
D. Intensive product knowledge on products, on cost, Factory audit ,quality standards and safety standards etc. Knowledge in at least two of the following areas will be necessary: wooden toys and crafts, plastic toys and house wares, plastic/ fabric fashion bags, printed and stationary products, educational toys for kids, DIY concept crafts, fabric items, metal or tin décor , ceramic or poly resin décor etc.
E. Good negotiation skills and ability to evaluate factories and problem solving. Good English both in written and oral.
F. Familiar with US market standards.
G. Personality: Honest, Independent, open minded, team spirit. Travel required.
