Teaching and Learning
? Have high expectations of students including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential.
? Plan for progression of all students, designing effective learning sequences within lessons and across series of lessons, which demonstrate secure subject knowledge
? Teaching across the various year groups within the department, and possibly teaching across more than one department as required by the Head of Senior School
? Establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with the students in their care
? Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback with constructive advice as to how they can improve their performance.
? Maintaining up to date knowledge of educational trends in their subject(s)

Curriculum
? Advising and co-operating with the Head of Department and other teachers on the preparation and development of schemes of work, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessments.
? Taking any such part as may be required in the review, development and management of activities relating to the curriculum and organisation and functions of the school.
? Know the assessment arrangements for the subjects they are required to teach, including those relating to IGCSE and IB examinations
Pastoral
? Serve as a Form Tutor as required.
? Identify and support students whose progress, development or well being is affected by changes or difficulties in their personal circumstances, including referring them to colleagues for specialist support.
? Have a commitment to collaboration and co-operative working

External Relations
? Promoting a positive image of the subject in the wider community
? Contacting and liaising with parents on subject matters.
? Liaising with internal and external agencies where appropriate
? Assistance in Parent Forums as required.

Co curricular
? Support the College's co-curricular programme by offering one club per week
? Attending relevant College functions as required by the Head of Senior School.
? Be fully involved in the activities of their House.
? Attend relevant assemblies as determined by the Head of Senior School.

Administration
? Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of students' progress.
? Submit formal reports on students' progress as set out in the Assessment and Reporting Calendar.
? Attend relevant Conferences as set out in the Assessment and Reporting Calendar.
? Demonstrate the positive values, attitudes and behaviour expected of students
? Be aware of the policies and practices of the College and share in collective responsibility for their implementation

SIP Dulwich College United School, also known as Dulwich International High School Suzhou (DHSZ) is a selective, English-medium, co-educational four-year high school. Our students are highly motivated and learning focused which makes it a delight to teach them. The majority of our current 550 students are PRC nationals who will pursue their university studies at excellent universities and colleges outside China. To this end, our students opt out of the Chinese education system at the end of junior middle school to follow a curriculum leading to IGCSEs and A Levels.
We are one of a family of schools owned and operated by Dulwich College International (DCI), based in Shanghai. DCI was founded in 2003, with full approval and authority from Dulwich College London and currently owns seven schools in China, Seoul and Singapore. Being part of a group of schools offers our employees and students many opportunities for connections and development outside the school as well.
We are an expanding school, currently in our fifth year of operation. We opened in September 2012 in temporary premises within the beautiful grounds of the prestigious Suzhou High School, in the heart of the old town of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. In August 2015, we moved to our new purpose-built campus which is located in the developing SIP district of Suzhou, right next door to Dulwich’s other school in Suzhou, DCSZ, which is a 3- 18 international school, offering IGCSE and the IB diploma.
In line with the Dulwich College educational philosophy, we offer a holistic approach to the education of our high performing students, which is centred on a rigorous and advanced academic programme based around the UK’s University of Cambridge International Examinations A-level qualification. In addition, we run an extensive extra-curricular activities programme that supports students in developing their teamwork, leadership and creativity skills.
