Job Description:
1. Supports the development of international supplier quality standards and responsible for their implementation, training, monitoring and optimization in accordance to TS 16949 and IMS Gear Supplier Quality Management System.
2. Studies the “state of the art” and industry benchmark methods relative to the subject matter of the project to understand the methods being utilized to best address the topic.
3. Mentoring and coaching the PDE’s in the Business Units.
4. Acts as a lever in the escalation process for supplier disruptions
5. Coordinates Multi-BU supplier issues (BU across / holistic view)
6. Schedule, lead and perform supplier audits
7. support the PDE (on demand) at problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
8. Work together with the PDE’s to resolve supplier issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
9. Develop long term supplier relationships and support Purchasing to generate and implement cost reduction ideas
10. Responsible for the quality evaluation and qualification of potential new suppliers as a recommendation for purchasing decisions. Supports supplier selection and approval according to IMS Purchasing policies and - strategy.
11. Responsible for supplier evaluation and supplier development for approved suppliers
12. Conducts a Supplier assessment process consistent with the IMS Gear SQM requirements. Effectively involves the internal stakeholders in the process to ensure acceptance and ownership of the result.
13. Monitors and reports the performance of the suppliers (KPI’s) and communicates further needs for change or improvement and then coordinates the necessary actions.
14. Supports Project Manager, Lead Buyer, BU and IE in the APQP process (potential analysis, AQP, feasibility, Run @ Rate ...)
Work closely with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
15. Strategic lead of specific supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability and performance..
16. Drive “Zero defect” mentality within the supply base
17. Throughout the project, prepares and presents the data, the status, the needs and options, and finally the results of the project effectively and professionally in verbal, written, and visual (.ppt etc) form.
18. Responsible that all data in the field of responsibility is current and accurate.

Skills: The basic requirements for the position of a Supplier Quality Engineer are:
?Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Quality in an international environment
?Computer Skills (MS Office, SAP, Profile and Purchasing related data base)
?5+ years experience in Quality Management in a manufacturing and automotive environment
?Understands the production technology and production processes of the suppliers
?Understands the production technology and production processes of our own products
?Strong Quality Management skills based on TS 16949
?Thorough Statistics knowledge
?TS 16949 and VDA auditor qualification
?Effective project management and presentation skills
?Language skills: Chinese and English fluent, German beneficial
?Strong written and verbal communication Skills
?Good interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels in a professional manner
?Good problem solving skills including ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges
?Works positively in an international team environment
?Must have an understanding of blue prints and technical specifications
?Ability to work in metric and inch
