This role is to assist in developing new bearing sources in low cost countries. These suppliers will make up the core of GPC's "approved" suppliers who will provide the majority of GPC bearing products in the US. Additionally this person conducts pre-shipment quality checks as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Researches and identifies new bearing suppliers in China and other parts of Asia

Qualifies new suppliers following the GPC qualification package as well as checklist of supplier requirements

Perform on-site inspections

Performs quantitative audits and qualitative analysis

Coordinates PPAP process between factory and customers

Assists Engineering to develop employee training on products and applications

Assists Engineering to develop customer training on products and applications

Coordinates with Engineering to obtain current costing and technical information on new designs, reverse engineered competitor samples and re-quotes of existing designs.

Communicates and coordinates with Global Sourcing and Engineering customer requirements for packing, labeling and any special documentation

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years in bearing experience helpful

Experience with ISO process required

Possess a high level of integrity

Effective negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills

Flexibility to work at other supplier locations throughout Asia, and willing to travel extensively

Ability to work effectively in a cross functional and cross cultural environment

Conflict Management and Composure under pressure

Ability to be flexible and to work through ambiguity

Fluent oral and written English and Mandarin, additional languages a plus
