I. Summary of Position
This position will be responsible for develop and nurture the long term relationships that will assure continued success and growth for the company. This position requires travel (including weekends and possible international) in order to achieve results through customer contacts and support activities. A key role is the growth and management of relationships with equipment and dealer reps, local influencers, and thought leaders and to become and remain recognized by all customers and Hu-Friedy sales team as the expert in IMS and infection control. Drive sales results via either creation or delivery of clinical education content, by providing support to KOL and/or alliance partners in delivering Lectures and education programs, and by working on business plans/sales strategy for key customers (government, group practices, institutions, etc). The specialist will be proficient in all Hu-Friedy products, including instrumentation, equipment, IMS, as well as all infection control protocols, CDC standards, state infection control guidelines, and eventual global standards. Lastly this role will demonstrate strong leading skills to lead IMS on a National Basis and form production collaboration with the sales team.

II. Principal Accountabilities
1. Become the expert in IMS and Infection Control through self-training and other avenues such as OSAP, CDC, CFDA etc. *

2. Lead generation and follow-through as indicated by SBU strategy by working closely with equipment representatives, alliance partner sales representatives, other manufacturer reps, thought leaders, and other influencers such as cabinet makers, financing companies, etc. *

3. Introduce and establish new IMS products, being the expert liaison.*

4. Educate dealers and alliance partners on IMS and infection control through dealer branch trainings and alliance partner trainings to help increase the comfort level of the dealer field sales, dealer equipment reps and manufacturer’s reps in presenting and discussing IMS and infection control.*

5. Identify, attend and participate at conventions within the territory and throughout the country, when applicable to the IMS line of products.*

6. Maintain regular contact with customers (including equipment specialists, thought leaders, and local influencers such as other manufacturer reps, cabinet makers, financing companies, etc.), with emphasis on developing long term relationships, to help achieve corporate sales goals.

7. Counsel dealer managers and/or purchasing agents on promotional opportunities, special programs, new IMS product introductions, and related IMS sale information.*

8. Design, schedule, implement, and monitor promotional IMS programs with qualified customers to enhance growth opportunities within the region.*

9. Keep an open line of communication between Sales Management/IMS Business Unit and the Regional Account Managers.

10. Participate in regional conference calls as needed or other Regional communication/team involvement in addition to Business Unit communication requirements and team programs.

11. Participate in the annual strategy and tactical planning process.

12. Develop clinical sales tools and selling presentations as needed.

13. Become an expert financing, creating proposals and targeting unique needs of various types of customers.

14. Complete other duties as assigned.

III. Functional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. 2-5 years sales experience, preferably in the dental business. Experience in selling equipment strongly preferred.

2. College degree, preferably in dental hygiene, health sciences, and/or business or equivalent knowledge level and ability to perform substantially the same work as a degreed individual due to advanced knowledge through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction. Dentist certification is highly preferred.

3. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in regard to significant business matters and duties.

4. Computer literacy and/or ability to adapt to a computer-based territory database management system

5. Excellent interpersonal, communications, and planning skills. Excellent presentation skills with large audiences.

6. Ability to accommodate a customary and regular travel schedule including an overnight travel schedule approximately 30-70% depending on need.

7. Team player with entrepreneurial spirit

8. Fluent in English
