Responsibilities:

- Ensure suppliers understand Sainsbury's Technical Requirements
- Assist Senior Quality Technologist to implement QA/QC strategies to support the business growth
- Support responsible Technologist in ensuring technical approvals & timeliness adhere to the Critical Path, coordinating hand in hand with UK, Merchandiser & supplier
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product quality and process requirements
- Support in product appraisal process and coordinating with responsible Technologist for sealing approvals
- Review and validate inspection booking and confirming inspection plan
- Support in reviewing PSI Reports and escalating to responsible technologist in case of non-conformance
- Perform on-site supplier visits for manufacturing reviews and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues
- Provide support in incident management, escalations and continuous improvements
- Participation in buying trips
- Develop and maintain relationship with external stakeholders including suppliers and third party inspection and testing service providers

Requirements:

- Relevant manufacturing / engineering degree is preferred
- 1-2 years related QA experience in sourcing, retail, manufacturing or product development environment, i.e. Seasonal Products
- Good knowledge of quality systems, ethical audits, testing requirements and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Robust personality able to work under pressure and make balanced decisions
- Competent in problem solving
- Six sigma / Lean skills
- General commercial awareness, experience in dealing with customer and suppliers
- Experience with manufacturing practices in Asia
- Known technical skills within the product area
- Familiar with UK legislation and requirements
- Fluently written and spoken English and (Cantonese & Mandarin in Hong Kong, Mandarin in China and Hindi in India)
- Willingness to travel within Asia
