KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/主要职责 ( include EHSS responsibilities)

The Technical Manager will have broad application knowledge and have the ability to develop and formulate customer tailor made solutions based on Wacker VAE dispersions. The employee must understand industry specific standards and testing equipment and methods. In this role the employee will safely support product development and/or technical service of customers by doing general lab work including the preparation and testing of materials; proactively and independently supporting the business development by initiating projects, generating data, and effectively communicating results. The employee will Influence the development of new products on a regional level by actively participating in strategy discussions and work with sales to grow a profitable business. The employee will provide technical service for current accounts and engage accounts in new product development discussions for new business opportunities and actively conduct general lab work for preparing and testing of materials.

Serve as a role model to all lab personnel. Establish and implement safe work practices to insure safe operation of technology assets within AD/TS. The position requires direct representation of WACKER Polymers to customers and external organizations.

Principle Accountabilities:

1. Support the business growth including Engineering Fabrics, Carpet and Paper

2. Must be able to work independently and be proactive by initiating projects to meet customer needs

3. Professional representation of Wacker Polymers to customers and external organizations

4. Responsible for the safety and quality management of the laboratory according to the guidelines

5. Effectively influence development of peers within the technical engineer community

6. Strengthen and develop technical competence on dispersions

7. Plans and conduct trainings for Wacker staff, external customers and distributors

8. Communicate with colleagues in other regions to learn and share application knowledge

9. Support LIC’s new product development and free R&D activities

10. Utilize laboratory equipment to prepare and test samples and provide data in a clear concise manner; record all work accurately in a laboratory notebook



REQUIRED QUALIFICATION/必备条件(education, language, expertise, functional competencies)

1. Advanced college degree

2. Advanced knowledge of chemistry

3. Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience

4. Good at formulating tailor made recipes for customers

5. In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and testing equipment and methods

6. Fluency in English

7. Willingness to travel locally

8. Time management, project management and communication skills
