The Wireless Infrastructure Division is addressing high growth opportunities created by disruptions in the Radio Access Network. We are developing semiconductors targeted at next generation multi-mode, multi-carrier Base Station platforms, including Remote Radio Head, Pico and Femto base stations. Applications engineers work with many cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams within PMC-Sierra, to provide best-in-class technical design support to customers located around the globe.

Years Of Experience: 2-5 years
Degree: Master
Responsibilities:
· Provide best-in-class technical design support for PMC-Sierra’s wireless infrastructure products, including RF transceiver components, DAC/ADCs, integrated RFICs, 3+Gb/s Serdes and low noise clock systems
· Develop comprehensive reference designs to showcase device performance at customer sites or industry trade events
· Author whitepapers and design documentation to help customers develop/debug their products and rapidly get them ready for volume production
· Provide detailed debug support and training to customer design teams
· Occasional travel to key customers in North America, Europe and Asia is expected.

Qualifications:
· Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
· 5 years experience in design/test of wireless base station systems
· Experience with design and test of wireless infrastructure components including: DAC/ADC, RFIC, Serdes and Clocking
· Experience with RF lab measurement equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, VSA, PSA, etc.)
· Strong technical problem solving and hands-on lab debugging skills
· Familiarity with scripting languages (tcl/tk, perl)
· Development and debugging experience in C is an asset
· Experience with test equipment, tools and techniques for high speed board-level system design, signal integrity analysis and pcb manufacture is an asset
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
· Program management experience, including direct interaction with customers and internal marketing/sales organizations, ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks
· Self-motivated, able to work independently as well as part of a team.
