Title: Interior Designer / Architect Designer
Reports to: Senior Brand Environments Designer
Location: Shanghai

Position Purpose

Landor is looking for a middleweight interior designer / architectural designer to work on retail and hospitality projects. The candidate should understand the project requirements and develop high quality designs accordingly with strong technical approach. The candidate will be fully immersed at all levels of the design process and will have the ability to get involved at any stage, whilst being able to work independently. This position will offer to the candidate a great opportunity to take on the responsibility of managing and coordinating the operational side of a project. The successful applicant should have experience of working on retail projects and ensure all projects are delivered according to Landor’s brand promise of developing and creating “Agile” brands.

Supporting our team we:
- Form a strong link between Designers and Senior Designer
- Develop supportive relationships with colleagues and other teams eg Client Services, Strategy
- Act as a role model for Landor’s internal brand values

- Ensuring highest creative standards in accordance with the design brief, in collaboration with Senior Designer and creative director

- Assisting Client Managers and Directors with direct client liaison, when required

Duties and Responsibilities

Landor Fundamentals
- Partners effectively with all departments to ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality deliverables that address all relevant prospective clients’ requirements.
- Coordinates projects with outside resources to facilitate production of deliverables.

- Communicates findings and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner in written, oral and presentation forms.
- Sharing and importing best practices and resources with peers within broader Landor network.
- Interacts in a positive, professional and motivating manner.

Creative Excellence
- Conducts conceptual exploration, including drawing, sketching, research, ideation and design.

- Works with Senior Designers to establish directions and design solutions; ensures implementation of directions from concept through to delivery.
- Able to put forward a point of view not just on their own work but the work of others.
- Proven ability to be handle multiple projects/tasks at one time.

Professional Requirements:
- Degree in architecture or interior design;

- 3/4 years working experience in architecture or interior design setting up and coordinating construction documents.

- Extensive knowledge of the design development and construction process/methods coupled with a strong understanding of high-end materials, finishes and suppliers
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within all aspects of the role.

- proven knowledge of best architectural practice and construction including software proficiency (AutoCAD & Sketchup)
- Familiar with production and project management;
- Good understanding of schedules, budgets and deadlines.
- Ability to brainstorm and communicate ideas within a team;
- Proven track record in designing and implementing concepts;
- Experience in dealing with construction contractors and outside suppliers
- Retail industry or hospitality design work experience is preferred.
- Must be prepared to travel when required

- Rigorous, reactive, creative;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Candidate can work under pressure, and be able to handle and complete multi projects at the same time;
- Strong communication, coordination ability with the team;
- Able to communicate with the team, English required.
