The Brand Manager Assistant is part of the Ubisoft mobile China team, based in Shanghai, and reports to Brand Manager. As Brand Manager Assistant, you will be supporting the Brand Manager in 1. Ensuring that Ubisoft’s global portfolio of mobile games is “China-ready” i.e. that our games are perfectly adapted to the China market specificities from day one, and in 2. Leading the marketing of locally-developed games based on Ubisoft’s biggest brands (Assassin’s Creed, Might & Magic), starting with the creation of high quality trailers and assets.
MISSIONS:
For Ubisoft’s global mobile game portfolio:
- Liaise and coordinate with Head Office, development studios and marketing teams to evangelize them about the China market and local market specificities, requirements and needs.
- Feed them with market research, competition benchmarks, polls and consumer studies and relevant analysis to keep them up to speed on the China market, players, local gaming, business and social trends.
- Ensure our mobile games and updates are “China-ready” and that localization is done to the highest standards including:
o Integration of local social platforms
o Quality of experience – connectivity test, text localization check etc.
o Special content & in-game events
o Adapted marketing assets
o Special packs and content offers based on local preferences.
- Support local business and operational marketing teams with internal and external presentations, pitches, assets & videos and game demo and active participation at events.
For mobile games based on our big IPs developed locally for the China market:
Working with local partner studios and Ubisoft brand teams.
- Help identify the game's target audience, positioning, values, and selling points and create the brand identity - title, visual identity, and metadata.
- Create the main marketing deliverables with agencies and ensure top quality of assets – Key arts, CGI trailers, dev diaries etc.
- Follow the game development stages and make recommendations and give feedback to ensure the game and the assets used in communication are always in line with the game and brand identity and standards.
- Help create game's promotional tools, including presentations, videos, web assets, screenshots, store descriptions and visuals, PR tools and all other needed assets for marketing or business initiatives and events.
- Conduct market research, competition benchmarks, consumer studies, playtests and relevant analysis. Share results & recommendations with game's production team, head office, brand teams.
PROFILE:
- 2+ years' experience in a marketing function at a video game development studio or publisher in China, on free to play mobile games.
- Very good understanding of China mobile game market and main games, players' behaviors, latest business models, trends. Very good understanding of Chinese social networks, video & streaming platforms, popular apps, etc.
- Passionate about video games and interest in the entertainment world and new technologies. Some knowledge of Ubisoft’s brands and games is a big plus.
- Strong verbal and email communication skills. Team work oriented person.
- Native level for Chinese and advanced English speaking and writing skills. French language a plus.
