Background
We seek an experienced and strategically minded corporate affairs professional to work in Citi¡¦s Shanghai office, reporting in to the Head of Corporate Affairs for China. The position has no direct reports under it, but will work in close partnership with the rest of the Citi Corporate Affairs team.
The Corporate Affairs team is responsible for all external and internal communications for Citi in China, including media relations, internal communications, executive communications, Citizenship, and select sponsorships. Currently the Corporate Affairs team is based both in Shanghai and Beijing.
Roles and Responsibilities
-Under the guidance of the Corporate Affairs Head, develop and execute a media relations program that ensures Citi is maintaining excellent relationships with journalists (both domestic and foreign) in China, to achieve a strong share of voice among our top media targets
-Manage issues in the media as they arise to ensure minimal impact to the reputation of the Citi China franchise
-Work closely with the Citi businesses to devise and deliver communications that help to better promote the work that these businesses are undertaking
-Draft press releases, speeches and other materials when required
-As needed, work closely with the rest of the Citi China Corporate Affairs team on major projects and initiatives, as well as other communications, ranging from executive communications, internal communications, events and etc.
Requirements
-Relevant degree
-Minimum of 10 years¡¦ experience working in a corporate affairs or public relations position either in-house or with an agency ¡V financial services experience preferred
-Understanding of how media work and news values (including social media), excellent media skills
-Excellent English and Mandarin verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong track record of creating and delivering proactive and strategic external communications programs
-Track record of dealing with executives at a senior level and providing considered and valuable counsel
