Sales manager (SM), brands Asia select.

Location; Shanghai and reports to the GM.

Product range:

Outdoor products and gear for hard lines and soft lines. This includes, but is not limited to: tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, backpacks, foldable furniture, outdoor garments.


General Job Description:

The Sales Manager (SM) is in charge of the overall sales of our main brands, Nordisk, Yeti and Grand Canyon to the specialized trade. Markets cover China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and possibly Thailand + Vietnam.

This includes but is not limited to identification of markets and create decision making options for optimal market penetration as well as a high degree of field sales.


The SM will in Shanghai, China work direct with our customers and on the export markets through our partners, agents and distributors.


The job shall be carried out in cooperation with the management of Nordisk Shanghai and the SM must play an active role to define and drive the marketing activities.


The SM will be located in Shanghai, but is expected to have regular trips to our markets as well as to Nordisk and Yeti.

Main responsibilities:

  • Direct sales to customers in China and Taiwan & Hong Kong.
  • Potential direct sales to customers in potential markets where we are not represented.
  • Close collaboration with and support of agents and distributors
  • Creating yearly business plans including budgets per brand and market
  • Creating and supervising campaigns for each brand and market
  • Organising and running half-yearly sales meetings + actively plan polar bear camp.
  • Organising our showrooms and sales kits.
  • Monthly reporting to company management with sales results and plans
  • Development of new markets + training of staff and customers and distributors and agents.
  • Create sufficient sales to support a wider organisation with the option to grow the sales team and supervise these.
  • In close co-operation with the Nordisk Asia management (General Manager), assist and provide support to the objectives of the office.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • College degree or above
  • At least 3 years related work experience
  • Your personality reflects honesty, integrity, reliability, creativity and discipline. You are motivated by a dynamic environment, you like to be organised, take initiative and work hard. You can apply diplomacy when required.
  • Good communications skills and a positive attitude. You are a “go-getter”
  • Good and well trained computer skills at user level with MS office programs.
  • High degree of discipline and capable of working individually and in a team.
  • Good (well above medium) verbal and written English+Mandarin skills.
  • German language skills an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Product knowledge which are related to outdoor products is an advantage but no requirement.
