RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
SALES
1. To define the sales strategy for future growth and profitability in the re-seller and end user channels, segmenting the market to quantify the opportunity with a clearly communicated action plan for optimising the opportunity.
2. In conjunction with Group and local Pricing Management set pricing strategy and methods for monitoring the market in order to maintain competitive prices positioned correctly against competitors.
3. To regularly conduct competitor analysis reporting on any new competition, product or service innovation, competitor strategies, or other market related activities.
4. To create promotion campaigns setting sales objectives / expectations / targets against them, and assess the returns on investment.
5. To effectively analyse the business results and / or direction of travel against plan, and flex the strategy to counter threats, loss of revenue or changing market conditions.
6. To co-ordinate the external sales team activity by communicating sales strategies, targets, KPI’s, and modus operandi that are easily understood.
7. To personally meet customers and network as required acting as a key focal point for communications with clients on issues requiring the status, influence and authority of the Sales Manager.
8. Work with the Branch Manager to ensure effective management of customer enquiries through timely, competitive, and profitable quotations.
9. To lead the way on award of contracts and / or receipt of customer orders in achieving the goals and objectives, and ultimately ensure all contract requirements are delivered on time, within budget, technically compliant, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
OPERATIONS
10. To work holistically and hands-on as required in directing the day to day sales management of the business to produce solutions for strategic, technical, commercial, operational, and personnel related challenges that impact on customer service and business performance.
11. To assume full P&L responsibility for all relationships between the company and its portfolio of customers, ensuring the company sustains market share, achieves return on associated capital investments, and delivers significant profitable growth.
12. To ensure an emphasis is placed by the team on further developing a high-performing, innovative, and influential customer support function capable of devising bespoke technical solutions to meet customer requirements.
13. To lead the constant drive and focus to improve operational efficiency via process, people or practical measures. In effect raise the bar on business performance delivery.
14. Support Group and local Inventory Management, and the Branch Manager through quality customer demand data to deliver effective stock management in terms of stock value, stock turn and OTIF (on time in full) supply.
15. To keep day-to-day operations, policies and procedures aligned with overall corporate policy, procedures, strategy and direction.
16. To sustain an incident free and secure work environment, implementing risk assessment process and procedures as applicable. Close liaison with the Group HSQE Manager, Security Officer, and Group Compliance Leader will be required in this regard.
17. To manage compliance with Company Policies and Values (for example Business Conduct Guidelines, Anti Bribery & Corruption Policy, IT & Intellectual Property Policy), and all local and international legislative requirements relevant to the work being performed by the business.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
18. To recruit and maintain a skilled dedicated team who will embrace the company’s core values to maximise the potential of the business through a total commitment to customer service and care.
19. To carefully consider and predict the growth of the business in order to effectively plan current and future staffing requirements.
20. To agree personal development plans with team members holding regular one to one reviews to assess performance against KPI’s and objectives, and to identify any future training requirements.
21. To develop and mentor direct reports, and generally coach the team towards delivery of ‘fit for purpose’ solutions at lowest costs whilst maintaining customer service quality.
22. To ensure that all sales personnel are actively involved in network, relationship building, and customer entertainment activities.
23. Support the Office Manager in ensuring the internal sales team provides effective support and service to our customers, and external sales team.
24. To ensure that all team members strictly adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND CONTROL
25. To deliver performance management objectives, agreed business plans, budget and targets and report on both plus and minus factors impacting on the business. In essence adopt a “no surprises” approach to reporting and leadership.
26. To ensure the business remains cost effective, reducing/eliminating unnecessary costs and remains within budget targets, whilst maintaining productivity and quality of service to grow the business in a profitable way.
27. To ensure that all customers comply with the company’s trading terms and conditions, keeping a tight control on lines of credit and debtor days.
28. Ensure that sales persons discount levels are not exceeded without prior authority.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
1.Minimum 5 year experience in a National Sales Manager, General Manager, or similar leadership role.
2.Experience of re-seller, B2B and B2C sales within the broad-line Industrial MRO sector. Knowledge and contacts within the Aerospace sector would be an additional advantage.
3.Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with some sales management qualification or training. A solid understanding of budgeting, results analyses, and financial planning is essential as this role involves setting annual budgets, owning P&L, and producing financial reports.
4.Able to effectively communicate in English and Chinese (both written and verbal).
5.Time Served or Graduate Engineer.
6.Full clean driving license.
7.Demonstrable understanding of how business operates with proven business acumen and capability to create, implement and lead the business strategy.
8.Outstanding interpersonal skills able to communicate at all, levels, including people-management, leadership, and both written and verbal communication.
9.Excellent networking skills.
10.Ability to recruit, train and mentor team members, and monitor their performance.
11.Experience of living and working abroad with an understanding and sensitivity to cultural differences.
12.I.T Skills (especially Word, Excel and Power-point)
13.Able to demonstrate an energy and enthusiasm in approach towards work.
14.Physical abilities/circumstances)
15.Willing to travel extensively in China, staying away from home overnight as required.
16.Hold a valid passport to be able to travel to the Group HQ, and other business locations as needed.
17.Willing to travel to other countries in the International Dept & to HQ.
