United Technologies Research Center (China) Ltd. invites qualified individuals to apply for the following position in the Shanghai office. This position will compensate the chosen candidate at competitive local Shanghai market wage rate, and benefits will be administered based on local Shanghai benefit practices.

Senior Research Engineer: Composite Material Engineer

Job Description:
? Automatic composite layup flow line design to leverage the labor, save cost, standardize the whole process and improve product quality. This can be realized by robotics and different sensors.
? Data analytics on the manufacturing process.
? Fast Non Destructive Testing (NDT) method for composite part defect inspection.
? Augmented reality assisted manufacturing process design and realization.
? Develop a network of local universities that can provide analytical services related to composite layup, non destructive testing.


Qualifications Required:
? MS or PhD degree in composite material, smart manufacturing or related areas with 3-5 years professional experience.
? Solid understanding of robust design tools and methods, design of experiments, and structural analysis.
? Familiarity with one or two FEA simulation tools, as COMSOL, ABAQUS, FLUENT, etc.
? Familiarity with various materials characterization techniques for surface, microstructure, and mechanical analysis, is a plus.
? Proven track record in improving time and quality metrics of manufacturing processes.
? Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and good communication skills.
? Self-starter who works well in an international teaming environment, is extremely well-organized and has excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
