Basic Function / General Description:
Develop high quality, cost leading door systems and other mechanical components for Otis elevators. Develop, evaluate and continuously improve design standard work. Provide leadership support to mechanical engineering group
Job Responsibilities:
? Develop high quality, cost leading door system and mechanical components.
? Enhance safety and robustness to installation/service variation to door systems
? Deliver engineering design (models, drawings, and other engineering data) in a flexible and reusable model product framework.
? Develop and improve design standard work with UTC competitive excellence (ACE) tools.
? Create engineering deliverables as defined in Otis Product Development Process (PDP).
? Work with integrated product development team to define door system design requirements.
? Develop and apply modeling, analysis, simulation and computation (MASC) to ensure door system design characteristics are favorable for door performance.
- Finite element analysis (FEA)
- Kinematic/Dynamic analysis
- Impact analysis
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) including heat transfer
- Noise vibration harshness (NVH)
? Conduct Market Feedback Analysis.
? Develop innovative door system concepts and perform trade-off studies.
? Implement / define standard interfaces to accept local aesthetical components.
? Conduct product design quality and development technical reviews.
? Support qualification tests.
? Track progress, resource utilization, earned value, and latest estimates for delivery.
? Provide engineering support to contract engineering for door systems.
Accountability & Measures:
? Job performance will be measured based on delivery of engineering center and individual objectives and on customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications, Work Experience & Skills Requirements:
? 5~8 years elevator design experience, 4~5 years in structural engineering, 3 years in door design
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
? Excellent ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with remote team members, including in American & European zones, is essential.
? Experience in design for cost, manufacturing (sheet metal) and installation is required.
? Experience with structural analysis and FEA is required.
? Experience in leading product development, from concept to production, is valued.
? Knowledge of elevator mechanical components, door systems in particular, is valued.
? Experience in modal analysis, noise and vibration measurement is valued.
? CAD skills, especially ProEngineer, are valued.
? Basic knowledge of codes of elevator is required.
Educational Requirements
? MS Mechanical Engineering, PhD is appreciated
? Language: Fluent in English writing and communication; CET-6 or equivalent 举报 分享
