Personal Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:

Must have solid quality engineering knowledge with significant export activity. Must be able to observe and understand complex geometric and mechanical relationships related to sourcing a wide range of commodity types. Must have strong analytical skills and have personal working knowledge of computer tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Must have experience in technical drawings. Must be attentive to details. Must be a motivated self-starter able to work independently or with cross-functional teams. Must have a high level of confidence and strong sense of urgency. Must be “hands on”. Must be able to work flexible hours and able to meet deadlines. Must demonstrate commitment to Shanghai AEP Electro-mechanics Co., Ltd. Values and Total Quality philosophy not only inside the company but to the suppliers as well.

Must be able to:

? Work with cross-functional team to execute supplier inspection, quality audits and improvement projects successfully
? Utilize a structured supplier qualification process that will link to a computer data-base. The process will be provided
? Must be able to complete a comprehensive supplier qualification audit, RFQ process, Supplier Contract negotiation and implementation, on-going supplier management, new product development, supplier quality for major suppliers in China
? Perform supplier management and relationship tasks
? Assist with sourcing efforts and supplier qualification for new products
? Perform tasks with a positive, team-oriented approach
? Must be willing to travel as required to perform the objectives of this position
? Capable of handling high-stress associated with managing a high level of activities with tight deadlines
?

Principal Areas of Responsibility:

? Regularly visit suppliers conducting Supplier Audits and pre-shipment inspections.
? Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
? Review Supplier manufacturing processes and collaborate with Suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
? Support corrective action process (QPR’s)-transmit problems and obtain responses in a timely manner.
? Support packaging improvement and standardization initiatives
? Working with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures.
? Collect and maintain supplier performance metrics.
? Identify repeat quality issues by supplier and maintain supplier quality scorecard.
? Recommend suppliers for qualification and / or disqualification based upon quality performance.
? Provide sourcing support for new product development- identifying sources and auditing them to create a “short list” of qualified suppliers
? Define and execute Supplier Qualification Audit and analyze data collected.
? RFQ package development, follow-up RFQ negotiation, and finalize product quotation.
? Customize the rules of supplier engagement as required for Supplier and part specific situation, implement, and manage Supplier Contract and overall supplier relationship.

Work Experience and Skills:

? Minimum of 3 years in mechanical engineering experience in either automotive, motorcycle, or small engine industry.
? Preferred with working experience sourcing rotating electrical parts and components.
? Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer or equivalent 3D design software experience is required, to be able to read and interpret customer drawings.
? Strong communication skills and negotiation experience preferred.
? Strong English language skills preferred.
