Product Manager is responsible for the product strategy and performance of assigned product lines. To convert strategic Brand promotion into feasible, operational strategy.

Product Managers role will be to work with the customers and vendors at the direction of management to drive and analysis key programs and initiatives for the assigned product line primarily in China.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for increasing market share, market coverage, brand awareness and vendor management.
2. Provide strategic direction to a team of sales professionals belonging to Cole-Parmer and Distributors / Dealers.
3. Execute promotions, marketing programs and visibility drives through workshops, seminars, conferences with the help and assistance of Marketing team and Commercial Head.
4. Conceptualize and implement trade initiatives to drive sales in various market segments through customized marketing initiatives and improved vendor involvement.
5. Collating market intelligence and latest information on various competitor activities and then formulating result oriented sales schemes
6. Achieve privileged relationships with existing Key accounts, customers, and vendors and devise and execute plans for new customer acquisition from competition.

Resources, Records & Presentations: Identify, allocate, track & evaluate resources to maximize sales, keep details of customers, opportunity funnel, review and analyze the market data available and collected, provide feedback, make presentations & enable corrective actions.

Training & Problem Solving: Coach sales team through classroom sessions & by demonstrating in the market place, attend training programs and improve knowledge, skills and attitude, conduct periodic sales review meetings
? Responsible for analyzing the sales trend, SKU wise business margin analysis, generating sales reports and strategizing business growth for the sales team and Channel partners.

? Support development of the product roadmap by providing insight into China market requirements through market analysis:
o Customer and competitive research, e.g. Voice of customer interviews, win/lose interviews, etc.
o Collect input from field personnel including Sales reps, Distributors and Service representatives
o Analyze publicly available information (trade journals, annual reports, press releases, etc.) for insights on competitor moves
? Develop financial analysis to drive performance of product line:
o China business performance for Monthly Business Reviews
o Pricing and margin analysis for assigned product lines
o Performance by regions.
? Driving pricing strategy and price/positioning of product portfolio.
? Execute programs including brochures, promotional materials, trade show programs, etc.
? Manage vendor relationship and expectation

Educational Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree required; Science or Engineering degree preferred experience in Life Science/Biopharmaceutical product lines

Experience Qualifications:
? Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
? Previous product marketing, sales experience (e.g. sales manager, application specialist) especially in Life Science consumables is a must.
? Experience successfully driving cross-functional projects and working effectively in cross functional teams in a matrixed organizational structure
? Demonstrated team leadership ability working effectively across functions
? Excellent oral and written communications skills
? Demonstrated ability to operate independently to take initiative and to drive results
? Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw actionable conclusions
? Strong organizational and time management skills
? Flexibility to travel up to 50% of time to customer sites, trade shows and sales meetings, etc.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
1. Must be able work well independently and excel in an unstructured environment with little daily direction. Must be self motivated, confident and self-assured to be able to identify sales and market opportunities without much direction.
2. Must possess leadership and supervisory skills to provide direction, coach, motivate and address performance issues, when they occur, with dealers.
3. Must be results oriented and work efficiently with a high sense of urgency in order to meet sales goals.
4. Must be responsive to customers, proactive and anticipate customer needs.
5. Must possess a strong work ethic, be trustworthy and maintain a high degree of integrity.
6. Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively sell to a wide range of nationalities, businesses, and people from lab or maintenance technician to executive level staff.
7. Must possess the interpersonal skills and sensitivity to deal effectively with individuals from different cultures.
8. Must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point for communication, analysis, and presentation.

Working Conditions:
? Sits at computer for extended periods of time and uses a keyboard and mouse to interact with computer system.
? Frequently uses phone to converse with business partners.
? Frequent writing and reading in both English and Chinese
