Position Summary:
We are seeking a senior level person to lead our Knowledge Management Product and related Consulting work inside Longbow. This work involves understanding clients goals and objectives, creatively thinking of ways to solve problems, proposing and building data-driven solutions, and building and leading a team of other consultants and analysts within Longbow. This is a senior level position reporting directly to the CEO.
Job Location:
This position will be based in Shanghai, in our newly-built office campus building in Jing’an, on Hengfang Road. The person holding this role will travel to Hangzhou for work for a day trip approx 3 times per month, with occasional overnight business-related travel to Beijing, Guangzhou/Shenzhen/Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
?STRATEGIST: The person in this role will be asked to build an understanding of the market for Location Data and for the platform that we’re building. He or she will create the roadmap for this product and will guide its development, launch and expansion, in ways that bring long-term value to Longbow, our partners and our clients.
?DESIGNER: This leader will design, manage and lead our reporting and analysis platform, using Location Data to help our clients better understand their business, their customers and their opportunities. He or she will engage closely with our clients to learn what features are needed and will work closely with our development team to ensure that our product has these features.
?INNOVATOR: The person in this role will be responsible for innovating, experimenting, prototyping and creating new capabilities for our company and clients, developing new advances in Location Science, market research, and digital marketing analytics technologies, and building those into our platform.
?MARKETER: As the product owner, this person will work closely with our Head of Marketing to position us for success; his or her team will also partner with our Account teams to support their work as a technical sales support experts.
?CONSULTANT: You will work directly with our Location Data Science team to prototype analyses to help uncover patterns, trends, correlations etc. that provide insights that will drive actions to deliver measurable business value. You’ll work to bring these advanced analytics to market as a crucial differentiator of our product, and consult with our clients to drive their success.
Qualifications:
?Bachelor's Degree in related field, preferably in marketing, research, advertising or data science; a Masters or PhD would be a big plus.
?Five or more years of strategic, technical and hands-on experience with data-related projects.
?Professional experience conducting research, digital analytics consulting or working in another analytical field with a demonstrated passion for numbers.
?Prior experience managing a team and/or managing a product is preferred.
?It would be a big plus to have been part of a startup or to have experience working on innovative small projects.
?Our working environment is cross-cultural, so bilingual (English/Mandarin) speaker is preferred.
Measures of success –
In three months:
?Develop processes to ensure smooth project delivery and workflow, between the Longbow team, our data science partners, and our clients.
?Outline requirements our Location Reporting and Analysis product platform, including: Customer requirements and key features, pricing guidelines, business case and financial forecasts, market analyses (coordinating with Head of Marketing), and development timelines and project plans (coordinating with our CTO).
In six months:
?Launch our Location Reporting and Analytics product, delivering four proposals to new accounts, and closing two of them.
?Create and sell internally a business plan for Consulting services (ie, Data As A Service) as added value on top of Longbow products. Outline the ideal team structure for Consulting teams to deliver our Knowledge products.
In twelve months:
?Deliver twelve Location Reporting and Analysis projects/product installs, assisting in the upfront sales efforts and owning the delivery. Work to ensure that learnings from the Reporting projects are reflected in our ongoing product roadmap.
?Assist in delivery of projects to ensure that we hit our revenue and profitability targets.
