1. Job Role Information


Job: Account Manager, Dry Bulk

Business Unit: Dry Bulk

Reports To: Sales Manager, Dry Bulk, China

No. of Direct Reports: 0


2. Brief Description of Role (i.e. purpose of role)

To develop and grow our business within a defined Region or Market sector in line with agreed Sales revenue and margin targets and the business plan.


3. Key Activities & Responsibilities

Key Activity 1 - Responsible for Business growth in defined sector or region

· Deliver agreed aspects of the Business Development Plan under the guidance of the appropriate Regional Manager (RM)

· Achieve agreed sales growth objectives including revenue and margin for the business in the defined sector or region.

· Gain margin improvement for InterBulk and cost productivity for customers.

Key Activity 2 - Relate market or sector knowledge to support the costing and pricing strategy relating to regional or sector activity

· Ensure that all pricing within sector is appropriate and creates value for the wider team.

· Liaise with the Pricing team to ensure they are kept up to date with market intelligence.

· Support the RM in developing and maintaining en effective pricing policy

Key Activity 3 - Responsible for managing the client at the highest level

· Manage professionally, the relationship between customers and the organisation and ensure their key requirements are clearly identified, communicated and exceeded.

· Ensure that client network is at the highest level and is adding value

· Ensure that the payment of Interbulk invoices is done as per the terms and conditions of Interbulk group

· Promote and sell all InterBulk services and liase with Sector/market specialists as appropriate

Key Activity 4 - Contribute positively to the Commercial Management Team

· Report on a monthly basis, sector or regional activity and support the RM in delivering the Business plan

· Attend Team meetings as required

· Take on project work for the wider team as and when required

· Ensure that own expertise and market intelligence is kept up to date

· Ensure that positive communication is cascaded to wider team.

4. Other Information

Typical experience / Qualifications required for the role:

· Bachelor degree or equivalent with major(s) in logistics, petrochemicals, sales and marketing, business administration, or related fields.

· Around 3-5 years Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing within the logistics sector. The knowledge of intermodal transportation, especially experience of managing and operation within the DRY BULK logistics sector are preferred

· Proven track record of working at a senior level

· Experience of looking after clients at a senior level

· Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

· Ability and track record of growing and delivering results.

· Experience of one or more sectors: Food, Short Sea Liquid, Deep Sea Liquid, New Products, a geographical sector.
