Job summary

Delivers merchandise to customers by verifying orders, inventorying stock, preparing necessary import and export shipping documents for customs clearance, CIQ, preparing documents for payment and arranging transportation.

Summary of essential job functions

1) Verifies and sorts order by ship date and follows up with vendors and forwarders.

2) Arranges shipments by contacting vendors, forwarders, and carriers accordingly.

3) Ships merchandise by examining in-house merchandise (only if applicable), destination, route, rate, delivery time, dispatches to carriers.

4) Verifies merchandise shipped by matching bill of lading, reconciling quantities; noting discrepancies.

5) Keeps customers informed by informing any shipment delays and current status of shipments; answering questions.

6) Protects organization's reputation by providing the service we promise.

7) Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

8) Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

9) Check for any discrepancies in the Certificate of Conformance.

10) Maintains and establishes good relationships with customers and vendors.

11) Supports overseas sales representatives

12) Handle Argosy NY orders in and out of China as the main contact window

13) Support logistics manager to expand freight forwarding business in China

Abilities required

1) Strong computer skills (MS Office, PowerPoint, Windows XP, etc)

2) Strong analytical skills

5) Good typing skills

6) Excellent written and spoken English

7) Excellent communication skills

8) Good at formatting presentations in power point and insert graphics

9) Responsible with the ability to work independently

10) Willing to learn, go getter

11) Ability to take direction and pay attention to details, with long term goal of assuming complete responsibility on the assigned tasks.

12) Degree from a 4 year college or university

13) Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

14) Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

15) Able to juggle multiple priorities

16) Able to expand job responsibilities, suggest improvements and collaborate with others to generate ideas and improve processes
