JOB SUMMARY: Perform Procurement functions for NPI (New Product Introduction) material as per the project plan by Program Manager. This function need to follow Supplier selection, budget- Cost, target schedule and quality. Prepares and analyzes reports and supports project management on customer flexibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

? Responsible to acquire NPI components successfully considering Cost, Schedule, Quality and Capacity
? Participate in New Products Introduction meetings with the cross functional departments
? Work with the project team to develop and agree on cost targets for new components prior to Customer Quote
? Interface with commodity managers to identify potential suppliers and commence supplier selection process and audits as appropriate
? Promote the principle of concurrent engineering, by organizing, and leading drawing early supplier selection, prototype at Mass Production Supplier and Co-Design/ Design to Cost approach Conduct evaluation of supplier proposals and put forward recommendations that achieve project expectations.
? Develop prototype strategy to support timely supply of development components
? Consolidate budget for all external investments including development/tooling etc for all new components within the project
? Track all cost changes and initiate/participate in reduction activities to stay below price target
? Take leadership for all supply base activities for the project and ensure actions from support functions are completed on time
? Support the development and implementation of processes to enhance the overall efficiency of New Product Introductions
? Maintaining performance metrics and tracking sheets for NPI activities
? Use of production intended suppliers for prototype parts
? Establish and maintain good working relationships with existing and new suppliers.
? Must be proficient in Excel and documentation interpretation
? Compiles data and prepares reports as requested and required by management
? Communicate system and process improvement needs to NPI material and transfer project to purchasing team.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

? Basic knowledge of electronic as well as custom made parts including basic price acumen, functions and sources of supply.
? Fluency in Mandarin and Basic English.
? Good knowledge of engineering, production and process techniques such as lean and continuous development
? Basic negotiation skill.
? Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering
? Excellent customer focus — internal and external
? Four plus years of experience in electronics industry, including NPI material purchase.
? Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
? Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects (multiple hats) simultaneously in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment
? Sound written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and speak effectively
? Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, and be familiar with commonly used email, Internet, word processing, databases and spreadsheets
? Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and materials. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

? Four-plus years of experience in NPI material, Sourcing and supply management with knowledge of MRP systems.
? Working experience with QS/ISO TS, MRP, SAP, or ERP environment and culture
? Electronic Engineering background
? CPIM, CPM, or other related certification
? Experience in Global Contract Manufacturing and EMS industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.
