Role Summary/Purpose
Essential Responsibilities
• Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses. • Responsible for development of innovative thin film materials/devices and process technologies in various applications, e.g. solar/thermoelectric energy, healthcare and public infrastructures. • Involve experimental research leading to the fundamental understanding of the device performance and fabrication process. • This is an Equal Employment Opportunity.
Qualifications/Requirements
• PhD in Physics, Material Physics, or Material Chemistry. 5+ years experiences in thin film deposition and device/material testing and analysis. • Proven technical skills in advanced theory and applications of thin film materials/device and materials characterization techniques. • Strong knowledge of materials physics, material science and thermo/surface chemistry. • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to contribute as part of a cross-functional development team. • Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major changes. • Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem solver. • Motivated by quality, cost and speed. -- High energy with passion for excellence -- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive goals and targets -- Embrace change and technology evolution as an opportunity • Fluent oral and written communication in English & Chinese.
