Foreign Joint Venture Company seeks a Purchasing Engineer with an Electronics background (or a Electronics Engineer with a strong level of Purchasing/ Sourcing experience) to:
1) Source electronics components; PCBs; LCDs, and help work with our suppliers to build a strong stable supply chain in these areas.
2) Work on and assist with the development and improvement of existing electronics products being manufactured in-house by us or by our suppliers.
3) Investigate and source finished products and peripheries to add to our customer's Smart Home (IoT/ Home Automation) product offering.
4) Assist with the development of new products that include electronics.
5) Assist with the development/ implementation of automation equipment for our in-house manufacturing and testing requirements.
6) Work directly with clients in Germany and the UK on all their electronics sourcing requirements. Providing technical feedback to both our engineers and our customers engineers, quality control departments and suppliers about electronic test results, product/ component reliability & improvement as well as make professional suggestions for feasible cost down/ product improvement measures.
Candidates should predominantly come from an electronics engineering background and have experience with electrical engineering, electronics product testing and failure analysis, but also have a in depth understanding of supply chains, factory liaison, product/ component sourcing and purchasing
The position reports directly to our Engineering Project Manager and as the department grows will also potentially have direct reports in due course, so hence requires aspirations to become a supervisor.
Candidates should be professional and competent in their areas, have good inter-personal skills, be structured, clear thinking, well organised and have a good independent, driven work-ethic with determined problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work as part of a team .
Strong written English and being a real dynamic team player are prerequisites. Good spoken English would also help.
