Alexander Street Press is an award winning electronic publisher, providing web/mobile based innovative products to academic and public libraries worldwide. Highly regarded in our field, we produce online collections of textual, audio and video materials, and create tools to enable academics to find, use and perform research on these materials.

We're looking for a PHP Senior Developer to design, architect, and maintain PHP applications to support our business requirements. The successful candidates will create high-quality PHP CMS web sites using web-based tools and techniques. Experience with languages including PHP, and JavaScript are a must. The ideal candidates will have a thorough understanding of internet and database architecture, and a high level of technical expertise in web development.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute individually to the design, architecture and development of large-scale custom application development projects

• Interact with internal technical, business and management staff, as well as oversea staff

• Work in a team environment to develop web sites and PHP applications

• Review code of other developers while applying strict adherence to quality standards and control points

• Interface with Program Managers, Project Managers/Analysts, Creative/UI Designers and clients

• Keep current with technology trends and industry developments

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Minimum of three years of experience in web development of CMS/ eCommerce solutions

• Experience with Database design, development and object oriented programming in
  PHP (experience with Zend Framework or other MVC Framework), MySQL
• Knowledge and experience of working in Drupal is a plus
  

• Strong PHP, mySQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills

• Speak English fluently – MUST

• Experience in Content Management Systems

• Professional service experience

• Technical certifications is a plus
