I. Background Information
Position Title: Supplier Quality Engineer - Engine Assembly
Function/Department: Supplier Quality, Global Purchasing & Supply Chain
Location: Shanghai, China

II. Purpose
? To implement and monitor advanced product quality planning, resolve quality issues and provide technical support.

III. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
? Provide supports of analyzing problems, Lessons Learned on engine components.
?- Share Lessons Learned with SQEs for specific components on what frequent failures could be.
?- Engage in problem solving activities for engine components.

? Conduct Torque & Angle Process Audit.
? Conduct Pass Through Feature review.
? Conduct Leak Test process review.
? Conduct cleanliness/contamination process review.
? Support SQE on machining process to ensure robust processes.

? Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning for new programsa
?- Monitor advanced product quality planning.
?- Fulfill GM supplier quality manual. Execute Gate Reviews.
?- Monitor, control and approve supplier's PPAP and Run@Rate.
?- Review supplier tools, fixture, and gauges to ensure meeting product GD&T.
?- Perform Process Control Plan Audit, QSB Audit, Part Specific Process Audit, etc.

? Perform Potential Supplier Assessment like PSA/PCPA.
? Drive continuous supplier quality improvements. Lead trouble shooting at suppliers.
?- Fulfill GM current supplier quality requirements, for instance, emerging issues resolution, major disruption prevention, PPM step-down, PRR, etc.
?- Problem root cause analysis. Using problem solving tools, such as RED-X.
?- Drill deep and wide for PRRs and Warranty Issues, etc.

? Liaise among Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers, ensure good communication. Attend CT meeting, provide feedbacks to the team.
? Any other activities as assigned.


IV. Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:
? Have basic knowledge of GD&T and Fixture/Gage design
? Have basic knowledge of AIAG APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
? Be familiar with engine assembly process and relate requirements.
? Good interpersonal skills.
? Be able to lead conference calls in English.


Education and Experience
? Bachelor degree or above with majoring in Mechanical Engineering or automotive technology.
? At least 3 years work experiences in automotive industry as quality engineer, or manufacturing engineer.
? At least 3 years work experiences in engine assembly plant.


V. Others
? Ability to travel within China (approximately 50% of the time).
? Self-motivated personality. Work with integrity.
? Open, diligent characteristics and moving fast.
