Responsibility:
Support JVs about design, approval, and buy off of Press systems.
Ensure completion of peer reviews on new projects and implement scalable best of the best ideas to improve quality, reduce cost, enhance operator safety, and meet timing.
Foster innovative, lean solutions to ensure project is the "Best of the Best "
Utilize peer reviews to enhance press/die engineering performance for GM on China
Serve as the Press expert for all technical matters during project development, execution and production start up
Link with the regional and global centers
Implement a strong project/program control process, including management reviews.
Implement Appropriate BOE strategies for low cost lean plant
Qualification:
Knowledge:
Product design knowledge, to ensure process driven product design
Knowledge of press machine structure, auto/manual press line
Knowledge of Vehicle Development Process, Die Engineering, construction, and primary & secondary tryout.
Knowledge of press shop layout, key M+E list and investment estimation
Knowledge of capacity calculation, throughput improvement
Knowledge of dimension, surface quality control
Skills:
Fluent in English & Mandarin
Strong management skill with the ability to work effectively with multi-cultures
Highly motivated with ability to work in a "non- structured " organization
High level of skill to work independently and confidence in decision making.
Strong oral and written communication abilities
Proficiency in both complex project management and technical skills.
Ability to organize and plan effectively
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in Joint Venture environments
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and ability to coach / mentor others to enhance skill set across GM China Operations
Ability to prioritize work and take initiative with limited direction from supervisor.
High level of organizational skills - ability to multi-task and handle job diversity
Strong presentation skills (management presentations, reports, negotiations)
Computer skills including competency in PC based office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), AutoCAD, and any other relevant software
Experience/Education:
Bachelor degree in Engineering
Minimum 5 years' experience in Die & Stamping projects
New product Launch Experience
Lean manufacturing implementation experience
