Job Responsibilities:
? Plan and supervise equipment installation, start-up, and process development of a phenolic resin coating, solvent removal, and curing process, and other mechanical equipment and processes in line with design plans, costs, and timescales.
? Specify system components, obtain proposals and bids, and direct modification of equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, and company goals.
? Monitor, report on, and improve process capability with regard to control, quality, safety, cost, capacity, robustness, and business goals.
? Support creation of operating process documentation and systems supporting production, quality, and safety.
? Oversee production process and guide production personnel.
? Resolve equipment, quality, and other technical issues quickly and effectively.
? Evaluate customer designs and requests for producibility and cost.
? Support introduction of new product types. Develop and test models or prototypes of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
? Develop fundamental process understanding to assess effects of material, process condition, and environmental condition changes, and equipment modifications.

Skills required:
? Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals such as heat and mass transfer, process control, and chemical kinetics and thermodynamics.
? Understanding of chemical processes, especially polymer curing. Phenolic (or similar condensation polymer) chemistry knowledge a plus.
? Understanding of process control and monitoring systems.
? Excellent communication and presentation skills. A high level of computer literacy.
? Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
? Good team working skills.
? The ability to prioritize and plan effectively, work under pressure and to deadlines.
? Good commercial awareness.

Education and Experience:
? BS Chemical Engineering, minimum.
? 5 years manufacturing experience including equipment installation, process development and documentation, and manufacturing responsibility.
? Experience in solvent based liquid resin coating and curing, or similar equipment and processes. Dip or submersion coating experience a plus.
? Process control system experience, especially PLC based control systems design. Manufacturing Information System experience a plus.
? Program management experience a plus.
? Experience with Lean, 6-Sigma, other quality concepts a plus.
