Job Responsibilty:
- Responsible for developing the existing tissue machine reference base in China in accordance with the overall Tissue Business Unit (TBU) strategy. The focus is to manage, develop and provide effective customer services for Tissue Customers and mills in the Region and also support TBU CAP and Service Sales in the region that meet TBU profitability and customer satisfaction targets. An important task is also to train the local resources, to enable technology transfer and enable the local organization to work more independently in the future.
- Manage and develop Valmet tissue machine performance for our customers in China.
- Participate at the end of the check out phase and the start up the machines
- During the period after start up; Trouble shooting, tuning and speed up
- Handling punch-list items in coordination with the Project Manager
- Plan, execute and follow up the guarantee runs
- Actively follow up progress of production and quality in the mills.
- Train Valmet personal in general Tissue machine Technology.
- Follow performance of Valmet Tissue Machines in China.
- Create bench mark material for Valmet installed machines and competitor’s machines. Provides sales support and overseas mill maintenance audits and studies and Tissue Advantage Agreements in the Region.
- Identifies improvement opportunities in installed machinery.
- Contact with the TBU Global Reference Management team with responsibility for sharing and transfer of knowledge to and from the Region.
- Serves as a member of the PPP Technology Team in China.
- The Reference Manager is also supporting the TBU sales organization regarding upgrade packages and new machinery investments in matters concerning Tissue Machine, Process technology and Performance Guarantee’s. Estimated time for sales organization support is 10%
Requirement:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/responsibility satisfactorily. Long experience in Tissue, and a deep knowledge in Tissue process technology are needed.
- Experience in project execution in China and Tissue Machine Performance guarantees is a must.
- M.S. degree in related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent technical work experience in the tissue industry. Eight year experience in related technical field including: project experience involving direct customer contact, experience in the tissue industry, and exposure to foreign markets, customers and business practices.
- Must be able to effectively communicate ideas, goals, and a variety of other technical and business information orally and in writing to customers, management, and other employees. Fluency in speaking and writing English.
- Must be able to apply principals of logical thinking to a wide variety of problems. Must be able to work with, and draw conclusions from, a variety of nonverbal data (formulas, economic statistics, graphs, etc.
