Introduction

The Internet of Things is driving the requirement for a disruptive change in the way embedded devices are created and deployed. Our mission is to build a modern full stack open-source OS and tools focused on developer productivity, low power, IP communication and security that can be used by 100,000s of developers creating these connected IoT devices.

We are looking for a talented engineer who is developer focused and shares our vision of the future who can work in conjunction with the rest of our engineering team and partner ecosystem, and lead a small local Application Engineering team to help our developer community be successful.

About Us

We are a new business unit inside ARM working on what will be the next generation of the mbed platform. This will be focused on production-grade software and tools; you will join a fast growing team of hard working, professional engineers who all share a vision and passion for building a foundation for this emerging industry that will change the way connected devices are developed.

Duties

You and your team will work with developers and partners to help them use our technology to be successful. Day to day duties for the team will include :
? Pro-actively creating examples and tutorials.
? Working on key strategic projects.
? Be the eyes and ears in the community, reporting back to engineering teams.
? Reacting to help developers solve problems.
? Identify and fix bugs.
? Generally do everything you can to make sure people get results! .

You may also get involved in creating videos, preparing and presenting talks that teach developers about these technologies, techniques and tools. This will likely include travel to support developer events, workshops, conferences and seminars.

Job Requirements

Experience and Skills

You need to have in-depth experience working with hardware and software for microcontrollers, and must excel in helping others be productive and successful in their work. You will have experience in leading a small team (2-5 members), managing their work load, career and personal development.

You also need to be proficient in multiple of the following areas:
? Cortex-M microcontrollers and peripherals.
? Writing technical content, documentation and getting started guides.
? Methodical approach to troubleshooting.
? Read schematics and debug at a PCB level using typical laboratory equipment if needed.
? Diving in to, understanding and debugging complex software stacks and applications.
? Enjoy deducing software bugs from application code down to the root cause.
? Compilation process and tools, C libraries and microcontroller startup.
? Thumb Assembly, C, C++, Python, Objective-C, compiler optimizations and code generation.
? It would be desirable if you have knowledge of constrained network protocols and mesh networking.
? It would be desirable if you have multi-platform development - Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS.
? Clear technical communicator and considered the guru in your current role.
