职位描述
Role Objective:
To provide commercial legal services to the Severn Trent Services business in APAC.
Key Accountabilities:
Summary:
A broad commercial role which will include both a focus on advising on commercial issues, commercial contracts (including manufacturing and supply agreements, standard terms of sale and purchase, project agreements) disputes, projects, compliance and governance to ensure that the legal risk of the business is effectively mitigated.
Commercial law
·Business acumen and understanding of the commercial side to the role as well as having the technical legal expertise.
·To proactively identify and undertake such activity as may be required within the area of responsibility to (i) meet strategic business plans, and (ii) consider any forthcoming changes in legal or regulatory requirements which could impact on the business.
·To proactively consider strategic / policy objectives of the company with a view to influencing key external stakeholders.
·Assisting as necessary with the management of external lawyers to deliver cost effective legal services.
·Working closely with other members of the team in development of policies and processes to help meet and exceed the company's Key Performance Indicators.
·Responsible for compilation of the monthly litigation report
·To develop a fit for purpose precedent bank of standard agreements
Management team Support
·Maintain required corporate entity records
·Develop working relationships with business unit directors within operational areas of the business to improve information flows
Governance and Compliance
·Ensuring policy implementation
·Oversee publication and communication of policy documents
·Develop supporting guidance as appropriate for each document
·Keep policies under review to ensure continued relevance
·Provide training and guidance to business units on compliance and/or governance issues
Strategic Activities:
Just as important as your day to day work will be your involvement in improving the performance of the company in the longer term by challenging the way work is currently carried out and taking responsibility for implementing improvements. This will require you to develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures, processes, tools and techniques that align with evolving best practice.
Experience:

Essential
·Good legal training.
·Experience of commercial contract review, drafting and negotiation.
·Good and varied experience in commercial or project work.
·Good experience of working on major matters with minimal supervision.
·Ability to understand the challenges or the market segments in which the business operates and provide pragmatic advice which appropriately minimises legal risk.
Desirable
·Knowledge/experience of international commercial work.
·Experience of intellectual property rights
·Experience of engineering, oil and gas or/construction project contracts.
·Experience working in-house in industry.
·Experience in development of compliance policies and procedures
Capabilities:
