As a Training Developer/Instructor you will be responsible for development and delivery of technical training to a variety of service and other technical FEI employees and external customers, to ensure that they have the required skills and knowledge to optimize the use and performance of FEI products.

As a Training Developer/Instructor you are a member of the Training Department. You are responsible for the development and design of high quality learning material. The Technical Trainer will have to develop close relations with colleagues from TSG (i.e. 3^rd line support), Customer Service, R&D/PG, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management and nanoports.

It is essential to our customers that the complex systems FEI builds, stay operational for as long as possible. This is only possible with excellent support, keeping the systems in the best possible condition and getting the system back online quickly in the event that it breaks down. The training department is the crucial link between Research & Development and the hundreds of colleagues working worldwide performing this excellent support. The training department develops and delivers technical training through 100’s of training events on a yearly basis. Most trainees are from the Sales and Service sector. The Training Department is located in Eindhoven.

Within our department you work in one or more projects supporting the learning needs of our (internal) customers. You are a team player, communicate proactively, have a healthy business sense and are on top of new opportunities which add value to our core business. Being in touch with several departments you translate the latest technical developments into complete training packages. Sometimes you will deliver training at local sites. The Training Department is exploring new technologies and methods to improve our own effectivity and the efficiency of our products. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

- University degree in (Applied) Physics, Material Science, Electronics or Mechanics/Mechatronics or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills;

- Preferably ~5 years experience in a Technical Training position, within high-tech industry or laboratory; state of the art training methods; experience with development and design of e-learning programs;

- Combination of both theoretical and practical skills;

- Skilled in using software;

- Proven affinity with or expertise in education and/or didactics;

- Analytic, abstract thinking, good communication skills, initiative, independent, sharing knowledge, stress tolerance and teamwork;

- Ability to capture and transfer knowledge in an effective manner is a must.

- Good didactical skills;

- Strong verbal and written communication skills;

- Multicultural awareness;

- Self starter who is also highly productive when not supervised;

- Incidental Traveling (less than 25% of working time);

- Fluent in English (verbal and in writing). Other language skills are an asset.
