Control4 is searching for a full time Technical Translator who will be responsible for translations from English to Chinese as well as original content in Chinese for a variety of areas in Control4. Focus will be on translation of web informational documents, website itself, marketing materials, documentations, technical files, as well as training materials.

ITEMIZED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
? Proficiency in English and Chinese, with an in-depth knowledge of the Chinese language and the ability to translate written text from English to Chinese.
? Skilled in preserving original content meaning - conveying intent, ideas or attitudes that may be lost in translation due to cultural differences.
? Aptitude for translating a variety of materials from English to Chinese, including formal legal, technological and engineering documentation.
? Ability to edit, standardize, proofread, revise and finalize translated materials prepared by other employees and contractors.
? Capable of organizing translated materials and finalizing translations according to a set of standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
? Adept at preparing project reports and documentation.
? Able to work with both the marketing and training departments, while reporting to the Business Development Director.
? All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
? Must be Customer Service oriented.
? Proficient in Translation Memory software - such as Wordfast, memoQ, across, SDL Trados, Transit NXT and Across, in order to ensure consistency of translation within documents and aid efficiency.
? Practiced in using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used.
? Technical Knowledge - This position requires the individual to have an excellent background in technical translation and technical writing.
? Writing - Communicate effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the reader/audience.
? Proven ability to work with people of varied backgrounds to achieve objectives.
? Skilled in creative problem solving, critical thinking, organizing resources and people to resolve problems.
? Information Gathering and Researching - Knowing how to find information and identifying essential information.
? Active Learning - Working with new material or information to grasp its implications and overtones.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? Candidate must reside in Shanghai.
? Possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
? 3 years prior technical translation experience.
? Certified CET6 or TEM8 (English Major) equivalent or above.
? Strong reading comprehension skill, editing skills, grammar, punctuation and spelling awareness.
? Experience with Microsoft Office productivity tools.
? Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
