Reports to: Engineering Manager
BASIC FUNCTION:
Facilitates and leads all cost estimating and pricing analysis with customer work teams (CWT) including current and ongoing training for all new employees involved in the quoting function. Analyzes the rational of all price changes and monitors billing activity at all plants to ensure usage of current approved pricing. Ensures that pricing database is current and accurate.
SCOPE:
Supports and leads customer work teams, management and customers in cost estimating and pricing analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Leads, directs, and trains all customer work teams in the formal quotation process, which includes, but not limited to collecting, reviewing, analyzing and recommending a final quoting price.
2. Accompanies the customer work teams to executive management quote review meetings to provide thorough, detailed and factual information to customer’s questions pertaining to the quote and its formulation.
3. Analyzes direct labor and overhead rates for all manufacturing plants compared to prior periods, reconciles significant changes and updates the quoting database accordingly.
4. Ensures the estimating database is accurate by using and auditing the customer purchase orders, reviews for discrepancies or inconsistencies, once obtained ensures the Dura pricing file is current for all new products shipped.
5. Is the custodian for all revision made to the various customer quote packages by ensuring all changes are made and entered into the system.
6. Reviews and consults with management past quoting strategy and competitor’s position, particularly in decisions involving non-traditional Dura products.
7. Updates and provides all cost estimating training to ensure that all new standards and processes are implemented and followed while remaining a consulting resource on more complex issues.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Completes and performs other duties/tasks as may be assigned.
2. For all current and future acquisitions, may coordinate the merger of estimating duties to Dura.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Experience: Five to seven years of related experience in estimating or cost analysis.
Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.
Working
Knowledge: Assignments require a good working knowledge of procedures, operating methods and managerial practices or a combination of education and experience that develops technical skills to perform routine assignments with proficiency.
