The company is growing quickly, especially in the APAC region. To support the growth and build long term sustainable business there is a need to strengthen the team with a professional and hands-on Financial Manager to take the lead of the Finance function in the APAC region.

Location: Shanghai

Short description: You will offer decision support to the APAC organization to drive/optimize operational and financial performance and proactively identify financial opportunities and risk areas in the APAC operation. Another part of the responsibility is to ensure that the APAC region is compliant and meets financial and accounting requirements. You will structure local financial processes and be a main link between HQ Finance, local Finance and outsourced accounting.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead the financial planning and forecasting process

• Coordinate the budgeting process across the region incl. preparation of presentations for reviews
• Validate and challenge data input
• Analyze to identify opportunities and risk

Managing APAC Financial Control function

• Execute Financial Control in the APAC region
• Lead the monthly closing process from a local perspective
• Guide and support the Accounting / Finance persons posted in countries
• Act as the ‘guardian’ of Finance including the production of financial data. In that respect will be the point of liaison with IT Norway.

Reporting & Business Analysis

• Produce the financial reporting for APAC region: define the whole process at country and regional level in alignment with corporate reporting set-up
• Contribute to the Management Financial reporting on corporate level
• Monthly net sales, gross margin and OPEX analysis. Explain variances versus Budget / objectives / prior year
• Proactively analyse the APAC operation and identify opportunity and risk areas, further optimization and influence business decisions

Supporting role to APAC business units

• Assist business units in the analysis of their financial performance including deviations from budget / objectives
• Provision of recommendations / solutions to improve business / financial performance

Setting and controlling financial guidelines for APAC

• Ensure that Stokke’s financial policies and guidance are communicated to markets
• Set specifics that might be required in APAC relatively to market environment and practices
• Control that policies are applied.
• Ensure the integrity of APAC financials

Leading APAC ad hoc projects

• Manage projects upon APAC region or Finance HQ requirements

Bridging Finance HQ and APAC region

• Be the representative of Finance HQ in APAC: will extend Finance action plan to APAC
• Be the support of the APAC regional and country management teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in Finance/Accounting
• At least 7 years working experience in Finance and Controlling roles in multinational companies
• Background covering international premium/super-premium consumer goods companies, in particular in the fields of distribution, retail and marketing
• Experience in Asian markets, preferably in a multi-country role
• Familiar with all financial control aspects including but not limited to: pricing structure and pricing analysis, net sales and gross margin analysis, control of marketing expenses, control of operating expenses
• Prior experience in financial optimization programs in both P&L and BS: pricing management, trading scheme, marketing and overhead expenses
• Strong accounting skills to support the local Stokke finance persons and the local accounting firms (accounting outsourced in Japan, Korea, China and Hong Kong)
• Familiar with planning / budgeting / reporting cycle management
• Experience with management reporting is a plus
• Business minded and sound common sense
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
• Credibility and integrity at a high level
• Hands-on and practical, able to switch between strategy and detailed implementation
• Open to travel within the region (about 30% of time)
