General Manager, Great China, SPS

The position reports to President, Sandvik Process Systems

Sandvik Process Systems (“SPS”) is a fast-growing product area within the Sandvik Group's business area Sandvik Venture. The operations are focused on endless strip steel belts in stainless and carbon materials, as well as steel-belt based process solutions. The customers are found in many segments, primarily within the wood, chemicals and food processing industries.

SPS has annual sales > 1.5 BSEK, with over 650 colleagues located around the world, organized into three Product Centers – Industrial Processing, Belts and Composites. The business has a global presence, with 8 production facilities located in all 3 regions of the world. SPS has delivered a high profitability over the past several years, and is now well-positioned to take advantage of a growing global market within many of its core segments, as well as interesting possibilities for acquisitions.

We are now looking for a General Manager who will lead our Chinese business with around 70 employees. An organization expected to deliver highly profitable growth during the coming years. The position is based at Process Systems in Shanghai.

Key performance areas:

Lead the organization with marketing, sales, engineering, production, service and administration activities related to Process Systems products and services to be sold, produced and delivered in the Chinese market.

Set short and long-term targets in conjunction with Product Area goals and cascade through the local organizations with structured follow-up

Ensure the local organization acts with a high standard of business ethics and fully complies with the Sandvik Code of Conduct

Represent SPS in front of major customers and business partners

Implement policies and strategies that ensure the local organizations has the resources necessary to deliver on the region’s short and long-term financial targets

Ensure that annual sales and consolidated profitability targets are met or exceeded

Ensure that all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental procedures are followed by the local organization

Your profile:

Qualifications & experiences:

Bachelor degree or above, major in Business or Engineering

5-10 years of experience in management

Experience of project sales industrial products, preferably related to process equipment

Executive customer relations experience

Demonstrated track record of achievements

Desired Competencies:

Strong business mindset with a passion to drive profitable growth

Deep understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements

General management experience from manufacturing industry and project sales

Proven leadership skills

Ability to communicate clearly and interact with senior stakeholders

Structural approach and ability to drive change management

Integrity and executive maturity
