Position Summary:

Design Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing “robust design tools” and delivering specialized program support and training at each applications site. DQE engineer will provide project teams with access to specialist skills, tools and training in the use of these tools.

Design Quality Engineer will become program gate keepers for Design while delivering:

• Implement GD&T and develop Gauging strategies. (incl gauge design and development)
• Support SQE to manage supplier compliance with GD&T and gauge
• Reliability prediction and analysis (including system noise factoring)
• Ensure reliability and noise factoring is cascaded into DVP’s.
• Lead formal problem solving activities (Six sigma projects)
• Develop design standards and support benchmarking

Main Function:

？ Prior to tooling release:

- Review/Institute design strategies (GD&T) for each component of system

- Develop transfer-functions for Fit/Form and Function requirements with zero Risk

- Determine SC/CC characteristic for each components

- Complete all detail drawing requirements for each component and work with CAD

？ After tooling completion:

- Re-run transfer functions with results from CMM measurement and determine actual risk

- Determine “fix tooling” or “change print”.

- Re-verify SC/CC requirements for inspection gauge integration

？ Review and approve OTS report based on transfer function results (CMM data) to determine feasible manufacturing variation (tolerance tables)

？ Participate in the design standards process

？ Develop a Weibull database structure for all commodities where applicable

？ Support test labs to maintain testing standards to enable statistical integration of results

？ Provide expertise at each site location in statistical problem solving techniques for both Internal and external customers

？ Support sourcing of approved gage source (Develop design with supplier)

？ Work with source to conduct (10%-90%-Final) sign-off approval

？ Work with source for both CMM holding and attribute fixtures

？ Support purchasing on sourcing of tools to maintain standards for global integration (Injection and Blow Molding)

？ Work with material supplier and tool source for “accurate” Mold Flow analysis results for balance fill / shrinkage / drops locations

？ Conduct all sign-offs on all ganging requirements (10%-90%-Final) GRR and certifications.

？ Conduct all DFMEA sign-off's

？ Conduct all capability sign-offs in reference to statistical control

？ Verify gauging methods line up to risk in PFMEA

？ Lead teams in six sigma (Root cause identification and resolution)

？ Lead teams for identified “Lean Design manufacturing” activities

？ Support “Benchmarking”

Selection Criteria:

？ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

？ More than 1 years’ related experience in automotive industry preferably in QA field

？ Knowledge and understanding of GD&T(Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing)

？ Well versed in problem solving and capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems

？ Has the ability to lead and organize

？ Good in both written and verbal communication skills.

？ English language competency

？ Understanding cultural sensitivities
