Role Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, Trade Media & Events in London, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales professionals in the Shanghai office and driving sales performance in China, as well as overseeing the productivity and corporate compliance of other functions within the Shanghai office.
The Commercial Manager will demonstrate the strongest business and moral judgment, professional etiquette and innovative problem-solving skills to develop and close new business, grow existing business, and support clients. Above all, you'll be responsible for hitting the revenue targets set for you and your team.
Duties & Responsibilities
? Identify new business opportunities and contacts at target clients for Trade Media & Events
? Deliver like for like revenue growth from existing clients
? Co-ordinate sales pipelines and leads with the London based, International Sales team
? Maintain up to date records on existing and potential contacts and accounts in our CRM system
? Ensure 100% compliance to Ink corporate policies and procedures amongst Shanghai Office staff
? Draft Contracts for customised Event Sponsorship
? Deliver revenue to hit both individual product and overall annual revenue targets
? Produce accurate and timely reports
? Communicate and feedback any business or office issues to the Managing Director, Trade Media & Events in a quick and effective manner.
? Represent the wider interests of Ink within China, identifying and communicating potential opportunities beyond the scope of the Trade Media & Events portfolio.
? Gather domestic market intelligence and systematically collate and share with management in London
? Provide input, opinion and advice as to new event and product launches within China
Requirements
? Desire to create & lead a high performing sales team
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
? Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record.
? First class, English-language written and oral presentation skills, excellent attention to detail and a well organized, structured approach to work.
? Strong numeracy and ability to use Excel and other applications effectively
? Good experience of using modern CRM tools (SalesForce knowledge a plus)
? Proven track record in events/media sales with at least 5 years’ experience
? Proven track record of leading sales teams with at least 3 years’ experience
? Experience of working both for and with Western headquartered companies
? Excellent telephone manner and presentation abilities
? Ability to lead source extensively and database management skills a must
? KPI focused with the overwhelming desire to over deliver targets
