Mapro is an international engineering company with its headquarters in Spain and branches in four countries. Mapro designs and builds special purpose machinery, assembly lines and test equipment for "Tier1" clients in the automotive and aeronautic sector.
As part of our plan for the expansion of our branch near Shanghai we are selecting candidates for the position of "First Class Mechanical Engineer".
The successful candidate will fulfill the following essential requirements:
- Demonstrate a solid background in the mechanical design of automated machinery and mechanisms for manufacturing.
- Possess a high level of skills using CAD programs, especially Solid Edge.
- Have a sound knowledge of the application of engineering calculations and finite element analysis.
- Show experience as a "hands on" engineer able to diagnose and solve mechanical problems on working machinery
- Capacity to work in a multi-disciplinary environment to develop machine concepts, understand and complete the designs to be fabricated.
- Ability to develop lasting relationships with local machine shops and suppliers and co-ordinate the build of the machinery in our facilities.
- Capacity to lead across functional team as part of a global enterprise and execute company processes flawlessly.
- A good level of spoken English must be demonstrated at the interview.
- Capacity to prepare, manage and lead risk management plans.
Desirable attributes that may decide the award of the position:
- A background experience as a worker in a machine workshop or manufacturing plant maintenance.
- Willing to make a sacrifice in order to learn the MAPRO way to solve urgent problems in production plant environment during the first year.
- Show technical leadership and coaching skills, as the successful candidate will be the future head of a mechanical engineering design office.
- An experienced professional capable of identifying talented new engineers in his field of discipline and assisting in future interviews.
Important notes for the selection team:
- While a good level of spoken English is required, visual communication through excellent technical design skills and following defined processes is even more important and speaks all languages.
- The ideal candidate will be between 30 and 45 years old. If a younger candidate is able demonstrate all the essential requirements and desirable attributes then he/she will be considered. You will notice that we do not insist on formal qualifications.
- We expect this new Mapro Engineer to play a key role in the development of our local engineering capacities in China.
