General Responsibilities:

· In the role of Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for the execution of manufacturing workflow and results of products produced. The Operations Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day output of high quality product, the management of production resources to achieve that output and the coordination of materials, manufacturing and engineering resources to support the daily production needs. Additionally, the Operations Team Leader will work with New Product Development teams on the process and validation steps leading to production introduction. In this demand flow technology environment, systems that reduce time, improve quality, and are focused on employee development and continuous quality improvement will form a key part of standard work practices.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Lead the activities for the manufacture of three specific product families and the resources within.

· Responsible for staffing, employee empowerment, teamwork development and employee development for the direct labor force.

· Assume full responsibility for the migration to demand flow production processes in the area of mechanical, electrical and electronic assembly.

· Identify and initiate improvement programs that improve quality, increase yield and maximize throughput. This will take the form of continued development of automated test equipment for our electrical products.

· Initiate the use of metrics in the production environment for both quality and delivery, and develop analysis models identifying areas of opportunity from the data gathered.

· Develop a high performance work team environment on the production floor with continued emphasis on employee development in all steps of the process within and between product families, cross-functional training and overall employee development.

· Assess the technical requirements of the products manufactured and assure that proper training programs are established, work instructions are created and used, and quality plans clearly define what is expected of the design.

· Lead the activities for daily manpower and material meetings, assuring the proper resources are available for the work at hand over the short term.

· Continually assess the manufacturing capacity in the area of manpower and equipment, and work with the Materials Manager to assure proper materials are available.

· Provide input to the Materials Manager for changes to production capacity.

· Develop measures of overall effectiveness and efficiency for the production operation leading to operational excellence and world-class performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

· 15+ years of discrete product manufacturing experience.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead through coaching and employee development.

· A working knowledge of Demand Flow Manufacturing design and operation desirable.
