Summary
The Merchandise Business Senior Manager will be responsible for managing merchandise business in Greater China, figuring out the strategy, ensuring all projects across products/platforms are on track, project issues properly managed and goal is achieved. As the Merchandise Business Senior Manager, you will work closely with Marketing, Creative lab, Operation and business unit leaders to develop the project plan, coordinate resources both internal and external and analysis outcome.
Success in this role demands strong merchandise licensing knowledge, project management skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and with partners.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
? Figuring out PopCap's merchandise strategy for Greater China:
o Devise PopCap's merchandise strategy in China in collaboration with other business team leaders to ensure alignment with overall business strategy and objectives.
o Interface into other PopCap merchandise teams around the world to share learning and best practices.
? Manage the image licensing projects. Work closely with merchandise partners in China to ensure the smooth launch of merchandise product and maximize the business. This includes:
o To establish the working process for PopCap's licensing business:
Finding and filtering opportunities, negotiation, plan, contracts, partner training, design review, production, revenue collecting and report.
o To establish the tracking and auditing system and procedure for merchandise, including hologram and hanging tag.
o Coordinate with creative lab to execute approval process for the merchandise design from the partners. Ensure the design quality matches PopCap standard.
o Work with partners to figure out the marketing plan and launch plan, to set up a working schedule, and work with partners to ensure that the schedule is respected.
o Support partners with respect to PR, marketing or promotional activities pre, during and post-launch, and ensure that such activities are executed
o Work with game operation team to make sure the IGA is accurately plan and executed
o Responsible for verifying and auditing the sales report of licensee and assisting finance team in royalty payment transaction in regular basis.
? Developing new opportunities for merchandise in Greater China. Establish strategy, identify and prioritize potential partners, and quantify the opportunities.
o Esp. the integrated marketing: drive traffic from physical products buyers to PopCap's game and drive gamers to buy game merchandise
o Identify opportunities, then participate in the negotiation & closing of deals.
o Build and manage relationships with partners
o Work with partners to launch new products and maximize value from existing products.
? Research
o Develop intelligence on the merchandise industry in China by gathering and analyzing relevant industry news and reports, and building and maintaining a network of industry insiders.
o Review laws and regulations that might affect PopCap's business in China, and stay on top of trends and new regulations as they evolve which may affect our merchandise business.
Experience and Qualifications
? At least 3 years of experience in a Licensing Manager or account manager role
? Experience in project management, with attitude to manage multiple projects concurrently
? Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail
? Excellent communication skills, including fluent English and Chinese skills and strong writing ability.
? Excellent skills of using MS Excel and Power Point
? Ability to work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines.
